Events of Hizb ut-Tahrir's Call (2005)

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, his companions, and those who are loyal to him. After that, Hizb ut-Tahrir issued this call on the twenty-eighth of Rajab, 1426 AH, on the occasion of the eighty-fourth anniversary of the abolition of the Caliphate, on this very date: the twenty-eighth of Rajab, 1342 AH, corresponding to the third of March 1924 CE. The party's officials proclaimed this call after Friday prayers in all the Muslim countries where the party operates, from the Far East, where Indonesia and Malaysia are on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, to the Far West, where Morocco is on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, passing through India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Central Asia, where Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan are, then Asia Minor, where Turkey is, and the Levant, then Iraq, Kuwait, and the Arabian Peninsula, then Sudan, Egypt, and North Africa. The party's leader also directed this call from the media office of the party, and all of this was done on the same day and after the Friday prayer on the twenty-eighth of Rajab of this year 1426 AH. Because the differences in the times of Friday prayers in the Muslim countries where the party operates, from Indonesia in the east to Morocco in the west, are about eight hours, the reading of the call in the mosques was sequenced throughout these hours. It began in Al-Azhar Mosque in Jakarta at 8:30 AM Mecca time, the capital of the first Islamic state (5:30 AM Greenwich Mean Time), and in the mosques of Rabat it was distributed at 4:30 PM Medina time (1:30 PM Greenwich Mean Time) after the end of Friday prayers. This had a great impact on stirring the feelings of Muslims, especially the youth of the party, as news was transmitted to them about the events of the call moving from one country to another, from the East to the West.
