Shariah Foundations of the Khilafah System (1995)

Hizb ut Tahrir

A booklet commemorating the anniversary of the destruction of the Islamic Caliphate by the disbelievers. It reminds of the obligation to rule according to what God has revealed and the obligation to adhere to Islamic law alone. It emphasizes that it is not permissible in Islamic law for Muslims to be without a caliph at any time, nor is it permissible for a Muslim to disobey him. It calls for the re-establishment of the righteous Islamic Caliphate based on the Prophetic model.

مقدمة / Introduction

Since the Islamic Caliphate was destroyed in (1342 AH - 1924 CE), Muslims have become more lost than orphans at a table of the greedy. On the morning of March 3, 1924, Mustafa Kemal, of Jewish origin, a Freemason, and an agent of the British, abolished the Islamic Caliphate. The Islamic nation was supposed to draw weapons against this treacherous agent who turned the abode of Islam into an abode of disbelief, fulfilling the dearest wish that the disbelievers had long desired. However, the Islamic nation was overwhelmed and in a deplorable state of decline, so the crime passed, and the spiteful disbelievers tightened their grip on the Islamic lands and peoples, tearing them apart in the worst possible way: they tore the one nation into nationalities, racial groupings, and factions; and they tore the one land into homelands and regions, establishing borders and barriers between them; and instead of the one Caliphate state, they established dozens of cartoonish mini-states, placing upon them puppet rulers who carry out the orders of their masters. They abolished Islamic law from governance, economics, international relations, internal transactions, and the judiciary, and separated religion from the state, confining Islam to some acts of worship and personal status matters, similar to Christianity. They worked to abolish civilization and uproot Islamic ideas in order to plant Western ideas and Western civilization in their place. And they have largely succeeded in misleading Muslims and distancing them from the reality of Islam, and in beautifying Western concepts, standards, and morals. But God's wisdom is profound, and His will is prevailing. He has willed that the Islamic nation return to its awakening, rise from its stumble, and realize that its salvation can only be achieved by re-establishing the righteous Islamic Caliphate based on the Prophetic model.

خاتمة / Conclusion

The Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, was asked: "Which of the two cities will be conquered first, Constantinople or Rome?" The Messenger of God, may God bless him and his family, said: "The city of Heraclius will be conquered first," meaning Constantinople. [Ahmad, al-Darimi, al-Hakim, and Ibn Abi Shaybah]. And he ﷺ said: "God has gathered the earth for me, and I saw its east and its west, and the dominion of my nation will reach what was gathered for me from it." [Muslim, Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah, and al-Tirmidhi]. And he ﷺ said: "Give good tidings to this nation of glory, elevation, religion, victory, and empowerment in the land. Whoever among them does the work of the Hereafter for the sake of the world will have no share in the Hereafter." [Ahmad, al-Hakim, al-Bayhaqi, and Ibn Hibban]. O God, we beseech You for a noble state based on the Prophetic model, by which You honor Islam and its people and humiliate disbelief and its people, and make us among those who work in obedience to You and call to Your path. May God bless, grant peace, and bestow blessings upon our master Muhammad and upon his family and companions and those who follow them in goodness until the Day of Judgment.
