Generals' Meeting in El Alamein: A Power Struggle at the Expense of the Nation's Blood
News:
On June 30, 2025, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, head of the Egyptian regime, received Sudanese army commander Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan and the commander of the so-called Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, accompanied by his sons Khaled and Saddam, in the new city of El Alamein. This meeting came in an attempt to contain the border triangle crisis between Libya, Sudan and Chad, which is witnessing a dangerous escalation due to the conflict between the Sudanese army led by Al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), which is approaching the Egyptian border.
Comment:
Al-Sisi's fear of the expansion of this conflict, especially after Al-Burhan accused Haftar of supporting Hemedti's forces, was the main driver of this meeting. It seems that Al-Sisi deliberately excluded Hemedti from the meeting, despite the fact that he is a key party to the conflict, in a clear indication of his desire to keep the dialogue within the circle of traditional generals, and to marginalize the irregular military forces that are not subject to the official hierarchy customary in the armies.
It appears that there is a preliminary understanding between Al-Sisi, Al-Burhan, and Haftar on the need to neutralize Hemedti, and perhaps consider his existence a threat that must be ended. Although Al-Sisi met with both Al-Burhan and Haftar separately, the two sides met face to face during the meeting, where Al-Burhan repeated his accusations to Haftar of supporting Hemedti, while Haftar categorically denied this, which prompted Al-Burhan to emphasize that he possesses evidence incriminating Haftar or those around him, and some of this evidence includes:
-
United Nations reports confirming the existence of a military supply network serving the Rapid Support Forces, passing through Libya, Chad and South Sudan.
-
Allowing the transfer of weapons from Libya to Sudan by Russian Wagner mercenaries, which indicates Haftar's involvement.
-
The previous Emirati support for both Hemedti and Haftar, which confirms the existence of an Emirati network of interests that exploits the Libyan arena to support Hemedti's forces.
-
Haftar's agreement with the President of Chad to pass arms shipments through Chadian territory after tightening the air embargo on Libyan airports.
Given these data, it seems that Al-Burhan's accusations are not frivolous, and even if Haftar is not personally involved in the support, it is likely that his sons, especially Saddam, coordinated these operations, especially in light of his increasing influence in southern Libya.
Although the three have common interests, they all depend on military rule and fear the collapse of their regimes:
-
Al-Sisi seeks to secure the borders and prevent weapons from infiltrating into the Egyptian interior.
-
Al-Burhan wants to cut off supply lines to Hemedti via Libya.
-
Haftar is trying to expand his control over southern Libya, which is rich in resources.
However, the meeting ended without reaching any real agreement; on the contrary, tensions increased, as Al-Burhan and Haftar exchanged accusations, and each party stuck to its position.
With the failure of this meeting, it is likely that the border triangle region will turn into a tripartite conflict zone (Sudanese, Libyan, Egyptian), with Hemedti exploiting the state of chaos to rearrange his ranks. The painful reality remains the same; each party moves according to its personal interests, without regard to the destruction that these conflicts bring, the price of which is paid by the sons of the nation with their blood and wealth, which has become booty shared by the colonizing West.
Even if an agreement is concluded between Al-Sisi, Al-Burhan, and Haftar, that will not be a happy ending, but rather a culmination of this disaster. The agreement means establishing the generals, America's agents, as guardians of the nation, and consecrating the authoritarian military model as the natural form of government, which gives America more control through its local tools.
No wonder, Haftar is America's man, he lived under its wing for thirty years, and returned to Libya at its command to implement its agendas, using its regional arms and those attached to it, such as the Emirates, Turkey and Egypt. As for Al-Burhan, he has proven his corruption and involvement in gold and copper smuggling networks, surpassing those who preceded him. Both men, and those who follow in their footsteps, are just cheap tools in the hands of America, which does not want this nation to rise. The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke the truth when he said: "The demise of the world is less significant to God than the killing of a Muslim man."
All the paths that are being managed today lead to one result: consolidating Western influence in Muslim countries, and the only difference between them is in who the West chooses to be its agent.
The existing countries in the Muslim world today, their borders and their regimes, are all made by the colonizer, and all are tools to serve him. The real solution, indeed the only one, is the return of Islam to power under the Rightly Guided Caliphate according to the method of Prophethood, which unites the nation, expels the colonizer, and restores sovereignty to Sharia, and dignity to the nation.
There is no group working for this noble goal with insight into its affairs, and following the path of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, except Hizb ut-Tahrir, which carries the caliphate project with a precise political and legal understanding, and places it in the hands of the nation. The nation must rally around it, and work with it, until the banner of Islam flies high over the lands once again.
﴿And that day the believers will rejoice In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.﴾
