Press Statement
Rain is a blessing and mercy, but without care it becomes a curse!
Heavy rains and torrential floods that struck large parts of Sudan have killed 42 people, injured 31 others, and destroyed more than four thousand homes.
We ask God Almighty for mercy and forgiveness for our people who died as a result of these rains, and that God elevates them to the status of martyrs, and we ask Him, the Most High, for kindness in His judgment.
It is sad and unfortunate that the rainy season does not come as a surprise, but rather it is a known period that repeats annually, and what is more bitter is that many weather observatories warned of heavy rains, but the government agencies did not move to avoid its effects, which were more severe on the villages of the River Nile State, eastern Sudan, and even Kordofan, and others. The government has nothing to do with care, otherwise it would have directed its officials to open drains, build bridges, inspect valleys, move people and animals to high places, and review people's homes and their ability to withstand the rains, but it is busy with things other than their problems, and by doing so it has completely abandoned its responsibilities in taking care of their affairs, except for offering condolences to the families of those whose houses fell on their heads! The rains, which are originally a mercy and blessing from God, have turned into a curse and a disaster!
The duty of care on the government is a responsibility that Islam has decided on the ruler towards the subjects. The Prophet ﷺ says: "...and the Imam who is over the people is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock." The Prophet ﷺ embodied this responsibility practically when he was the ruler of the Muslims in Medina. Anas bin Malik, may God be pleased with him, narrated: "The Prophet ﷺ was the best of people, the most generous of people, and the bravest of people. The people of Medina were alarmed one night, so the people went towards the sound. The Prophet ﷺ met them, having preceded the people to the sound, and he was saying, 'Do not be afraid, do not be afraid.' He was on a horse belonging to Abu Talha, bare, without a saddle, with a sword around his neck. He said, 'I found it to be a sea (of safety), or it is indeed a sea.'" Narrated by Al-Bukhari.
O people of Sudan: It has been proven to you beyond any doubt that these functional regimes do not take care of your affairs, but rather they are a burden on you, so remove them, and work to please your Lord with Hizb ut-Tahrir to establish the state of care; the second Rightly Guided Caliphate according to the method of Prophethood, so that you may live happily and generously under its shade.
﴿O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life.﴾
