Relations with those who killed us, displaced us, and burned our bodies?! Where is the victor's pride?
News:
The visit of the Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Shaibani, to Moscow at the head of a high-level delegation, has opened the door wide to talk about the future of relations between the two countries, and the role that Russia may play in the new Syria. The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, and his Syrian counterpart agreed to review all bilateral agreements, and their desire for healthy relations, as Al-Shaibani met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a meeting described by the Syrian Foreign Ministry as "historic," stressing the start of a new phase of political and military understanding.
Commentary:
I read the news and reviewed a set of related news, and I noticed different phrases that the media focused on, including this news. The words were talking about the "future," the "historical event," "forgetting the past," and other things that were described as being from the past, and that there was no need to talk about them!
As I was reading, the phrase "Our martyrs are not numbers" jumped into my mind, that phrase that activists and those working to document the states' massacres against the revolution and revolutionaries have always repeated. It was confirmed to me again that the media is not only directed, but may play a dirty role in distorting people's awareness, just like the role of the sons of Iblis, God forbid. In a previous stage, the talk was about the regime, its allies, and their massacres, but today, the discourse has completely changed.
One of the websites described the visit to Russia as "historical," and it was right in what it said. How can it not be historical, after mountains of skulls, piles of body parts, and floods of blood shed by the Russian bear?! Then we sit with him and exchange laughs, as if nothing had happened!
Yes, it is a historical visit; it came after their planes poured the lava of their hatred on our heads. Historical because it is with the one who kept the Assad regime on its feet in a stage of the revolution, after it almost fell. And here it is now squatting in it, and we do not know, was there a look at his face from afar?
Do you want us to remind you of the magnitude of the crime that was committed? Should we retell the massacres so that you do not forget them, and do not say "new relations," "new stage," and all this ugly talk?!
If there is a new stage indeed, let it be after pride from us, after we take the rights of our people and restore their dignity, not while we are still seeing blood flowing, body parts piled up, and skulls staring before our eyes!
What is wrong with you, people?! Where is the pride that we used to see in you? Where is the spirit of revenge that we witnessed in you? Where is the determination to support the oppressed, that which songs were sung for, poetry was composed about, and words were arranged for?!
I remembered, as I wanted to conclude, that you know this very well, you know the reality of these criminals. You know them very well, you have fought the fiercest and harshest battles with them, and you have witnessed their crimes with your own eyes. But it seems that something stronger has covered all that, so you forgot, and threw it behind your backs! And I hope that that thing is not the chair, the position, or the rule, because if it is, then there is no power or strength except with God.
