Democracy and Liberalism are Infidelity Contradictory to the System of Islam
News:
Iraqi politician Qusay Mahbouba, a former official in the Wisdom Movement, spoke on Saturday, August 2, 2025, about his experience working with Islamic parties, and argued about the possibility of Islamists turning into liberals who believe in secularism and freedom, as happened, according to his assessment, with Mr. Musa al-Sadr in Lebanon, and Mr. Mahdi al-Hakim in London, stressing that Mr. Ammar al-Hakim himself was attacked because of his moderation because they interpreted it as being influenced by the West, and he mentioned that politicians change a lot, citing the former governor of Basra, Majid al-Nasrawi, who used to pray all night before he came to office, then changed a lot, according to his expression. Comment:
Political Islam is a term given to everyone who engages in politics and raises Islam as a slogan, but the truth is that Islam is an integrated system of life that regulates man's relations with his Creator, with himself, and with other human beings, and it is not correct to call Islam political only because it gives the listener the impression that there is an Islam that is not related to politics, while politics is an integral part of Islam and it is the practical way to organize the relationship of man with man, and politics takes up the great space in the books of jurists in explaining the rulings of transactions and penalties, and these are all politics, i.e. taking care of people's affairs according to the rulings of Sharia.
Returning to the article, it describes those who come to power in the name of Islam as dictators and enumerates the disadvantages of the existence of political Islam in power, and thus it describes the disadvantages of governance when those who claim Islam take over its affairs.
This in itself is a real ignorance and a complete lack of awareness of understanding matters according to their reality. Whoever follows democracy from those who are counted on Islam to reach power, but follows a path to the wrath of God and the necessity of His displeasure, for he has committed a great injustice when he initiated democracy to reach power because democracy is a system that contradicts the system of Islam, as it makes man a legislator without God, while Islam does not accept other than God as a legislator, so whoever seeks power through democracy to implement it is replacing people with God Almighty to make himself an equal to God in legislation!
So what kind of Islamist is this who uses the forbidden just to reach the forbidden, which is ruling by other than what God has revealed!
In addition to making people an equal to God Almighty, the means to the forbidden is forbidden, this is what Islam taught us.
Not everyone who calls for Islam is an Islamist because God despises empty words from action, as He, the Almighty, said: ﴿GREATLY HATEFUL IN THE SIGHT OF ALLAH IS THAT YOU SAY WHAT YOU DO NOT DO﴾ This is a clear prohibition against taking Islam as a facade with words without actions that achieve God's satisfaction, so this is a behavior that leads to division and fragmentation, and here God addresses the believers, ordering them to stand firm in one row in front of God's enemies and avoid empty talk from action, so God said: ﴿O YOU WHO HAVE BELIEVED, WHY DO YOU SAY WHAT YOU DO NOT DO? * GREATLY HATEFUL IN THE SIGHT OF ALLAH IS THAT YOU SAY WHAT YOU DO NOT DO * INDEED, ALLAH LOVES THOSE WHO FIGHT IN HIS CAUSE IN A ROW AS THOUGH THEY ARE A BUILDING WELL-CONSTRUCTED﴾ Whoever wants Islam does not take a path other than the path of God, but adheres to Islam in its entirety, forming a single row in front of God's enemies so that it remains a well-constructed building that is not penetrated by defects, otherwise it will fail and be among the losers.
Those who reach a secular government in the name of Islam have abandoned it, they are among the misguided.
O God, return us to Islam in a beautiful way and use us in resuming the Islamic life and do not replace us, for You are the Hearer, the Answerer.
