Egypt's Scholars Between Bearing God's Covenant and Trust and Political Distortion!
News:
The Misr Al-Aan website reported on Sunday, July 13, 2025, a speech by the Egyptian Minister of Endowments, Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, in which he called on the people of Gaza to remain steadfast on their land "no matter the sacrifices of lives and children," warning of a Zionist plan aimed at displacing the Palestinians and eliminating the Palestinian cause. These words came in the context of his attendance at the ninth media session organized by the Ministry of Endowments in cooperation with the Union of Radio and Television of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries. He also sent a message of greeting to the Egyptian President, praising the efforts of the Egyptian state under his leadership in supporting the Palestinian cause, and its insistence on bringing aid to the people of the sector, stressing that there is no alternative to the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Comment:
Al-Azhari's words appear to express sympathy and appreciation for the steadfastness of the people of Gaza, but they lack the correct Sharia basis that requires scholars to be at the forefront of those demanding the movement of Muslim armies to liberate Palestine, and not just calling on its people to remain steadfast as if they are the decision-makers, possessors of weapons, and armies! The people of Gaza do not need anyone to remind them of steadfastness, as they are a school in steadfastness and resilience, but rather they need someone to call for their liberation. The legitimate role of scholars in such a situation is clear and unambiguous, which is to speak the truth and demand the movement of armies to support them, not to praise the regimes that besiege them and protect the Jewish entity. Silence about their siege and refraining from inciting armies to support them, liberate them, and remove those who stand between them and this is a betrayal of God's covenant.
It is strange that Al-Azhari, in this speech, thanked and praised Sisi, and praised his role in supporting Gaza, which is a matter of surprise, astonishment, and even anger, because the Egyptian regime, as everyone knows, is one of the most prominent tools that besiege Gaza and prevent it from the means of life and salvation. It is the one who closes the Rafah crossing, and it is the one who prevents weapons from entering the resistance, while it brings in goods subject to Jewish control and supplies them with goods and weapons, buys stolen gas from the nation from them, and coordinates security and intelligence with the Jewish entity according to the Camp David agreement, and builds walls underground and above it to cut off any connection between Gaza and the depth of the Islamic nation. Is this the support for which the Egyptian regime is thanked?! And has betrayal become described as protection?!
Oh, Minister of Endowments! What you must carry and call for is the necessity of moving the armies of Muslims, led by the army of Kinana, to liberate Palestine, and not just praying for them and urging them to remain steadfast. Sharia requires its liberation and makes jihad in that cause one of the greatest duties, but rather makes it after faith in God.
The responsibility on scholars today is great, and the most dangerous thing that can happen is that religion is used to polish treason, and that sermons become a tool to cover up the crime. Let everyone who issues fatwas fear God, for the reckoning on the Day of Resurrection will not be in front of the cameras of the media, but in front of the King of Kings, the Almighty, the Compeller. What scholars must proclaim today is their address to the armies about the necessity of moving immediately to uproot the borders and liberate all of Palestine, for the platforms of scholars are not for calming down or praising, but rather platforms for proclaiming the truth, inciting jihad, and exposing traitors and agents.
As for those who say, "We have nothing but supplication," this is the saying of the incapable or the laggard, because scholars possess the word, the platforms, the fatwa, and the ability to influence the nation. If they are silent about moving the nation towards liberation, then they are partners in the continuation of the occupation.
What is required of you, oh scholars of Islam, and what is less than it is a betrayal of God, His Messenger, and His religion, is to mobilize the nation and its armies towards the liberation of all of Palestine and the removal of everything that stands between the armies and this duty of the regimes of treason and shame that protect the Jewish entity and guarantee its survival and continuity until they became its true Iron Dome. The liberation of Palestine begins with uprooting these regimes from their roots, and truthful is the one who said that the liberation of Palestine begins with the liberation of Cairo, and the liberation of Cairo means that this regime is uprooted and a state of Islam is established in it that mobilizes its army and its energies to support its people, liberate its land, and glorify its holy sites. Then the Jews will not find a land to carry them nor a sky to shade them, and the infidel West that supports them today will rush to wash its hands of them. Yes, this is what the state of Islam does. Oh God, hasten it and make the soldiers of Egypt its supporters.
﴿AND [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased.﴾
