The Fourth Arab Forum for Chasing a Mirage!!
News:
The Fourth Arab Forum for Equality, under the title "Dialogue and Solutions," was held in Algeria last Tuesday and Wednesday, in partnership between the Ministry of National Solidarity, Family and Women's Issues and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), which is affiliated with the United Nations. The forum called for bold reforms to address the exacerbation of inequality.
Comment:
The Fourth Arab Forum for Equality was held this year in Algeria, similar to previous forums held in Amman in 2022, Beirut in 2023, and Cairo in 2024. The forum focused in its current session on the idea of "the ability of comprehensive and flexible social protection systems to reduce inequalities." It also included discussions and reviewed examples of best regional and global practices from their point of view, which promote equality, and concluded with future policy proposals and recommendations.
One of the most prominent things the forum called for is the need to make bold reforms to address the exacerbation of inequality and enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of social protection systems.
As is the custom of the United Nations and its arms, one needs to make an effort to understand and comprehend the reality of the proposed solutions and the difficult vocabulary they use in their statements. For example, does the recommendation they concluded with, "enhancing the effectiveness and responsiveness of social protection systems," really reflect a practical, tangible, understandable solution that addresses inequality?!
The bitter truth they hide is that those seeking the specter of gender equality are chasing a mirage and illusions in a barren desert that stretches to the horizon, and in every forum, their cries and panic rise to confirm the failure of their solutions and strategies.
Despite this, Arab countries, unfortunately, spend money and effort on their path and adopt the same projects.
According to what was stated in the report published by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs itself in 2024 on the results of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development with regard to gender equality, not even one indicator has been fully achieved from this goal, only six years before the deadline of 2030.
So why insist on the same path and continue the forums and conferences despite their inability to achieve the shiny slogans they promote?!
The falseness of the claims and international treaties issued by the United Nations since its inception makes the wise person understand that their true goals from their programs and recommendations are different from what is announced, and that the Arab countries are like herds of sheep in the hands of their shepherd, with no will or sovereignty. They are proceeding with gender equality projects not because they are in the interest and good of their peoples, but because they are dictates from their masters.
