Launches a Global Campaign Entitled: "The War in Sudan: A Story of Colonialism, Betrayal, and Disappointment"

(Translated)

The brutal war in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces led by the de facto ruler of Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo "Hemedti," al-Burhan's former deputy in the Sovereign Council, has entered its third year now, claiming the lives of tens of thousands of civilians. Some estimates indicate that the death toll in this senseless war has reached 150,000, with heinous atrocities committed by both sides, including cold-blooded executions, torture, mass rape, and other sexual crimes against women and girls. Ethnic cleansing has also been reported, with entire areas burned and destroyed, and mass killings carried out in various cities, villages, and displacement camps. The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, stated that "the rampant horror in Sudan knows no bounds." The war has also caused the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with more than fourteen million people displaced, leading to the largest displacement crisis in the world. In addition, half of Sudan's population of 50 million faces the risk of starvation, with the World Food Programme confirming the spread of famine in ten locations, including the Zamzam camp, which shelters 400,000 displaced people, warning of its potential expansion, putting millions at risk of famine, and leading to "the world's largest hunger crisis." Both sides have used starvation as a weapon of war by preventing food from entering areas controlled by the other side. The Executive Director of UNICEF, Catherine Russell, described the humanitarian disaster in Sudan as "not just a crisis, but a multifaceted crisis affecting every sector, from health and nutrition to water, education, and protection."

However, the bloodshed and humanitarian disaster resulting from this war have not received the global attention and international media coverage they deserve, and no serious efforts have been made to end the bloodshed. It is a war that has been marginalized, forgotten, or even ignored due to conflicts in other parts of the world and has been described as a "hidden and invisible crisis." Therefore, the Women's Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir has launched a global campaign to highlight the deteriorating humanitarian disaster and the horrific scale of suffering, terror, and humiliation endured by the people of Sudan.

The campaign, entitled: "The War in Sudan: A Story of Colonialism, Betrayal, and Disappointment," will also address the politics, hidden agendas behind the current conflict, in addition to the regional and international countries involved in instigating the war and sponsoring it for their selfish political and economic interests, hoping to exploit Sudan's rich resources and immense geopolitical importance. The campaign will also explain the history of Sudan and the factors, including colonial interventions in the country and the rule of Western-planted dictatorships, which laid the foundation for tribal, ethnic, and religious divisions among its people and which ignited the various wars that have devastated the country for decades, as well as caused the economic failure of the state.

Finally, the campaign will highlight the impossibility of solving Sudan's political, economic, and social problems, as well as the ongoing war, through a democratic system that has proven its inability to effectively meet the needs of the world's peoples, and has even colluded in various genocides, including in Gaza, Kashmir, Myanmar, and Syria. Rather, the countless problems facing Sudan and other Islamic countries can only be solved under the laws, systems, and apparatuses of the Khilafah (Caliphate) state, which has historically proven its ability to achieve prosperity and progress, provide first-class healthcare and education systems, and ensure harmony between different tribes, ethnicities, and religious beliefs, to build a successful and stable state.
