Reaching a trade agreement that favors America with China
News:
US President Donald Trump announced that an agreement had been reached with China on tariffs, and said proudly: "Our agreement with China has been concluded," adding: "The two countries have agreed to ease export restrictions in accordance with the previous agreement agreed upon in Geneva in May." In return, the United States will allow Chinese students to enroll in American universities after Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced last month a plan to strictly cancel visas for some Chinese students.
The US President confirmed on Wednesday that the agreement includes "the complete magnet and any rare earth minerals necessary will be provided to America in advance by China," and Trump pointed out that America "will receive total customs duties of 55%, while China will receive customs duties of only 10%," and Trump said: "The relationship with China is excellent."
Comment:
After a violent struggle over the issue of raising customs duties between America and China to more than 150 percent, and after the imposition of severe sanctions by both sides against the other, the American and Chinese negotiating teams reached solutions that were accepted by both parties through a new agreement that clearly grants America tremendous advantages that China seems to have been forced to grant to America in exchange for limited benefits.
Under the agreement approved by the two countries, America will temporarily reduce its customs tariffs on Chinese goods from 145% to 30%, while China will reduce its customs duties on American imports from 125% to 10%, and China will do something more dangerous and important than that, which is to supply America with rare earth minerals in exchange for America allowing Chinese students to enroll in its universities, which is not at all comparable to exporting rare materials, which is a Chinese sovereign matter that has been compromised!
China's submission to America on this matter, which is supplying it with rare Chinese minerals, indicates a severe weakness in China. The only power card it had in its hand, which is not exporting rare materials to America, has been lost, which indicates that it has given up this very important card, and also shows the extent of its submission to American dictations, in addition to the inequality of customs duties between them.
It seems that China has currently accepted bowing to the American storm for a long period of time until it regains its lost balance with America, and in the hope that its international situation will improve in the foreseeable future.
