Press Release

When the doors are closed in the face of the hungry and they are prevented from surviving,

the true face of the Egyptian regime and its henchmen emerges

At a time when Gaza is experiencing one of the most severe moments in history in terms of injustice and cruelty, where, on top of death from bombardment, children are dying of hunger, women are dying of sorrow, and the elderly are dying of disease, Major General Khaled Megahed, the Governor of North Sinai, came out with statements that contradict the simplest moral and humanitarian values, and the requirements of Islamic brotherhood, where he said: "If the people of Gaza reach a stage of famine, they have 3 solutions: either go to the Israeli side and be met with fire, or throw themselves into the sea, or go to Egypt, which is impossible," which are words that reflect an inhumane official position that is not befitting of an official in a Muslim country, let alone being a political crime against our brothers in Gaza as they endure suffering under a joint siege imposed by the entity of the Jews and the Egyptian regime for more than 18 years.

The Egyptian regime has always promoted that it provides support and relief to the people of Gaza, and stands by them in the face of aggression, but Megahed's statements drop this mask completely, and reveal the true face of official policy towards Gaza; no support, no sympathy, and not even allowing the passage of the distressed or the hungry! Rather, the matter has reached the point of considering the entry of the people of Gaza into Egypt as "impossible," as if they were enemies.

The governor's statement cannot be read in isolation from the existing political context, which makes Egypt's decision dependent on the will of America, which fulfills the desires of the Jews. The siege imposed on Gaza is not a decision by the entity of the Jews alone, but rather it is a joint implementation between it and the Egyptian regime, with direct American support, with the aim of breaking the will of the people of Gaza and pushing them to surrender, but rather to subjugate the entire nation and push it to despair and lose any hope of change.

Megahed's statements accurately express an official strategy that sees Gaza as a security burden, not a matter of creedal responsibility, but rather fuels a culture of demonizing the people of Gaza in the minds of the public, where they are portrayed as a "potential danger" that must be prevented from entering Egypt at any cost, as if they were a plague or invaders, not brothers in religion, nor holders of a just cause, which is the cause of the entire nation and not their cause alone, for the land of Gaza and all of Palestine is land that is owned by the entire nation, and the obligation to liberate and protect it falls on the shoulders of the entire nation, foremost among them the people of Egypt and its army, as they are the closest and most worthy.

When an official declares that he will prevent the hungry from entering his country, and he knows that he may die if he does not enter, this is a full-fledged crime. And if the corrupt judiciary in Egypt does not hold him accountable, then God will ask him about it on the Day of Resurrection, and history will not have mercy on his likes. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Any people among whom a hungry person spends the night, the guarantee of Allah Almighty has been removed from them," this hadith refutes all the excuses of the regimes that claim "neutrality" or "political calculations", for if the people of Gaza are dying of hunger today, and the doors of Egypt are closed in their faces, and they are prevented from food and medicine, then the guarantee of Allah has been removed from these regimes, and from those who collude with them, or remain silent about their actions, and whoever justifies them from among the scholars, media figures, and politicians, is a partner with them in treason and the guarantee of Allah is removed from him.

O people of Gaza: Be patient and persevere, for you are on the right path and you are steadfast, and you are in Jihad until the Day of Resurrection, and God will not waste your struggle, and He will not let your blood go in vain.

O people of Egypt, O people of Kinana: Know that God will ask you about Gaza, and He will ask you about your countries that are closed in the face of its people, and about your partnership - with your silence - in besieging and starving them; therefore, hasten to lift the siege on them. For Gaza today does not need statements of sympathy, nor relief convoys alone, but rather it needs armies moving to liberate it and cleanse it of the Jews.

﴿This is a message for mankind that they may be warned thereby and know that He is but one God and that those of understanding will be reminded.
