Press Release

He who withholds bread from Gaza does not speak of integrity, Mr. Foreign Minister

Rafah in the cage of occupation... or in the grip of the Egyptian regime?!

In a scene that is unmistakable, the children of Gaza stand on the ruins of their homes, racing for a sip of water, a piece of bread, or a dose of medicine, while the Egyptian Foreign Minister appears, talking about "evil intentions" and the "honor of foreign policy," in an attempt to absolve the Egyptian regime of its actual role in the suffocating blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.

Minister Badr Abdel-Aaty stated in a televised interview on July 30, 2025, that Egypt practices its foreign policy with "honor and integrity," and that "the crossing is open 24 hours a day," and that whoever questions the Egyptian role is either ignorant or has bad intentions, accusing parties and groups he described as terrorists of trying to defame Egypt, and calling for directing anger towards the occupation, not towards Egypt.

But do such statements deceive those who witnessed the massacres, counted the number of impounded trucks, and saw the wounded begging at the Rafah crossing gate?

Although the Minister claims that the Rafah crossing is open 24 hours a day, international organizations, the United Nations, and the Red Cross confirm that it remained closed on most days since the beginning of the Jewish aggression in October 2023. At best, it was partially opened, under strict security conditions, and through coordination lists prepared in the offices of the security services, excluding the most needy groups.

Satellite images, eyewitness reports, and medical teams also showed that the crossing remained closed for consecutive days, despite the accumulation of hundreds of trucks loaded with aid on the Egyptian side, which prompted some drivers to film clips documenting the spoilage of medicines and the death of livestock due to the disruption; so where is the integrity in that, Mr. Foreign Minister?!

The Minister tries to justify the failure to allow aid or evacuate the wounded, and the collusion in the siege and participation in the killing, by saying that "the occupation destroyed the Palestinian side of the crossing," but this deception ignores that hundreds of humanitarian crossings in the world were opened in harsher war conditions, and evacuation and relief operations were carried out under bombardment.

Rather, what is called the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing is just offices and security rooms on the opposite side of the Egyptian gate, and a temporary emergency crossing can easily be established or a passage can be opened through the border strip adjacent to Kerem Abu Salem, and this is what many countries that care about the lives of neighbors do. And the best of all this, and indeed the duty of Egypt and its army, is to break the entire isolation wall, remove the border between Egypt and Gaza, and support its people with full support.

What is happening is an unjust siege, and preventing necessities from the people of Gaza, which is a crime in which the regimes that sanctify the Sykes-Picot borders and obstruct the opening of crossings participate, whether by collusion or silence. The Prophet ﷺ said: «Free the captive, feed the hungry, and visit the sick». Al-Tabarani narrated from Abdullah bin Umar, may God be pleased with them, that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: «The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim, he does not wrong him, nor does he abandon him». And «nor does he abandon him» means he does not leave him to the enemy, nor does he prevent him from assistance, nor does he close the crossings in his face, nor does he watch his children die and not move!

As for the Minister's saying that anger should only be directed at the occupation, it is a confusion between the original enemy and the assisting enemy, between the killer and the one who held the victim so that he could kill him. The siege is carried out by Arab hands, by closing the Rafah crossing, imposing permits, confiscating aid, and refusing the entry of fuel and medical equipment.

The Minister says that 70% of the aid that entered Gaza was Egyptian, as if this justifies closing the crossing in the faces of thousands of patients. Even if this percentage is true, it does not justify opening the crossing selectively, and at a pace that does not keep pace with the disaster, nor does it absolve responsibility from those who participated in the siege, or were silent about the massacre, or concluded security coordination agreements with the killer.

Moreover, assistance, although necessary, is not a favor, and the legal duty is to mobilize the army to support the people of Gaza and liberate all the blessed land. God Almighty said: ﴿And if they seek help from you in the religion, then upon you is the help Support is not a donation, but rather an obligation that does not lapse due to a crisis or a budget.

Accusing those who object to closing the crossing or to the silence of the Egyptian state regarding the crimes of the occupation of terrorism or evil intentions is an old authoritarian method, which tyrannical regimes have become accustomed to whenever reality exposes them.

Are the thousands of doctors who protested against being prevented from entering Gaza terrorists?! Are the people of Gaza who are demanding the opening of the crossing terrorists?! Are the scholars and preachers who said that the siege is a betrayal terrorists?!

The statements of the Egyptian Foreign Minister are nothing but a political cover for a clear bias towards the international position, and silence about the crimes of the occupation, and direct collusion in closing a crossing that is the last lifeline for Gaza. As for attempts to whitewash this role and demonize free voices, they will not silence the cries of children under the rubble, nor the groans of the wounded, nor the tears of widows.

The crossing is opened with bulldozers if brothers are considered brothers, and the wires are dropped if dignity is more precious than false sovereignty. And the nation knows who betrays it, who supports it, who practices its politics with honor, and who kills it in the name of "integrity." For he who withholds water from the people of Gaza, and withholds food and medicine, and leaves them to the enemy, is a partner in the crime before God, no matter how much he tries to disguise his face with masks of nationalism or honor.

The gates of Gaza are open to armies, before aid. And its crossings do not need trucks as much as they need armored vehicles. He who died of hunger will not return, but he who betrayed him may survive if he takes the initiative before it is too late.

Awake, armies of the nation, and start from Egypt... for Gaza is not waiting for more statements, but for the hordes of conquerors.

﴿And what is [the matter] with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, "Our Lord, bring us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper"?
