A Sermon in a Legend
It is said that a mouse saw a camel and admired it, so she pulled its halter and it followed her. When she reached the door of her house, the camel stood contemplating the smallness of the mouse's house compared to its very large size.
The camel called out to the mouse, saying: Either take a house that befits your beloved, or take a beloved that befits your house!
Ibn al-Qayyim said, after mentioning the previous legend in (Bada'i' al-Fawa'id), addressing every believing man and woman:
"Either pray a prayer that befits your deity, or take a deity that befits your prayer."
