Gems of Fruits
Companionship of the Sultan
Ibn Qutaybah says in his book Uyun al-Akhbar, and I read in a book of India: "The companionship of the Sultan, despite their glory and wealth, is a great risk, and it is only likened to a rugged mountain with good fruits and wild beasts. Climbing it is difficult and staying in it is more difficult. The good of the Sultan and the evil of the Sultan are not equal, because the good of the Sultan does not exceed the increase in the situation, and the evil of the Sultan may remove the situation and destroy the souls that seek more. There is no good in something whose safety is wealth and status, and in whose misfortune is disaster and destruction."
