Abu Bakr's advice to Omar, may God be pleased with them
When death approached Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, he advised Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with them, saying: I advise you with a will, if you accept it from me: that God Almighty has a right by night that He does not accept by day, and that God has a right by day that He does not accept by night, and that He does not accept the supererogatory until the obligatory is performed. Did you not see, O Omar, that the scales of those whose scales are heavy on the Day of Resurrection are only heavy because of their adherence to the truth and its heaviness upon them, and it is right for a scale in which nothing but truth is placed tomorrow to be heavy, and the scales of those whose scales are light in the Hereafter are only light because of their adherence to falsehood and its lightness upon them in the world, and it is right for a scale in which falsehood is placed to be light.
May God bless our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions
Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you
