The Emir of Hizb ut Tahrir, members of the Emir's Office, the Court of Grievances, the Central Media Office, and Hizb ut Tahrir in general... mourn for the Islamic Ummah the member of the Emir's Office, Ustad Ahmed Bakr (Abu Osama), who passed away this morning, the twenty-second of Rabi' al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to the fourteenth of September 2025 AD, at the age of eighty-seven years.

Abu Osama was among the first generation in Hizb ut Tahrir, carrying the call in the path of Allah in order to resume the Islamic way of life by establishing the Rightly Guided Caliphate... He stood firm on the truth and carried the call until his death, undeterred by the regimes and their tyranny, nor by the terrible prisons of the oppressors such as the prisons of Hafez and Bashar al-Assad, where he languished for many years! When he came out of them, he did not sit or rest, but continued his journey in carrying the call in the path of Allah with the strength and steadfastness of true men, his eye looking forward to the dawn of the Caliphate and the implementation of Islam with its creed and system... However, Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, has chosen for him what is greater and more glorious, by His permission, glory be to Him ﴿In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability﴾.

May Allah have mercy on you, Abu Osama, we are saddened by your departure, and we say only what pleases Allah, the Almighty ﴿Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return."﴾, Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.
