Precious Fruits
The Believer
Al-Hasan Al-Basri, may God have mercy on him, said: The believer is humble in prayer, and quick to give zakat, his words are healing, his patience is piety, his silence is thought, and his gaze is a lesson. He associates with scholars to learn, and remains silent among them to be safe, and speaks to gain. If he does good, he rejoices, and if he does evil, he asks for forgiveness. If he is blamed, he seeks to appease, and if he is treated foolishly, he is forbearing, and if he is wronged, he is patient, and if justice is imposed upon him, he is fair. He does not seek refuge in anyone other than God, he is dignified in public, grateful in private, content with provision, grateful in prosperity, patient in adversity, despondency does not bring him together, and stinginess does not overcome him. If he sits with the babblers, he is written among those who remember God, and if he sits with those who remember God, he is written among the devoted.
