Precious Fruits
He is the one who sent to the unlettered a messenger from among themselves
And Allah Almighty said: ﴿It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error.﴾
Imam al-Tabari said: That is, Allah has bestowed upon you, O people of faith, when He sent among you a messenger from yourselves, reciting to you His verses and purifying you in what you have introduced and in what you have done, and teaching you good and evil so that you may know the good and do it and fear the evil, and informing you of His pleasure with you if you obey Him, so that you may increase in obedience to Him, and avoid what angers Him from your disobedience, so that you may be saved from His punishment, and attain thereby His reward from His paradise, ﴿although they were before in clear error﴾, that is, in the blindness of ignorance, not knowing a good deed, nor seeking forgiveness for a sin, deaf to the truth, blind to guidance.
