To Whom Does the Muslim Complain if He Does Not Complain to His Muslim Brother?
Al-Hasan al-Basri, may God have mercy on him, used to say: To whom does the Muslim complain if he does not complain to his Muslim brother? And who is the one who is obligated to him? The Muslim is the mirror of his Muslim brother, he shows him his faults and forgives him his sins. Those before you from the righteous predecessors, a man would meet a man and say: O my brother, I do not see all my sins, nor do I know all my faults. If you see good, then command me, and if you see evil, then forbid me. Umar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, used to say: May God have mercy on a man who presents our faults to us, and one of them would accept the advice of his brother and benefit from it.
