It was narrated that Al-Thawri's companions spoke to him about what they saw of his fear and diligence, inheriting his state. They said: O teacher, if you reduced this effort, you would also achieve your goal, God willing. Sufyan said, "How can I not strive when it has reached me that the people of Paradise will be in their homes, and a light will appear to them that illuminates the eight paradises, and they will think that it is a light from the Lord Almighty, so they will fall prostrate, and they will be called to raise their heads, it is not what you think, but it is the light of a maiden who smiled at her master." Then he recited, saying:

You see him walking sad, fearful, and anxious ... To the mosques, he walks among rags

O soul, what is your patience with the fire? ... It is time for you to accept after turning away
