Precious Fruits
O my son, I advise you with a piece of advice, so memorize it
Abdullah narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Abdullah bin Yazeed narrated to us, by his memorization, Uyaynah bin Abdul Rahman narrated to us, Ali bin Zaid bin Jud'an narrated to me, saying: A man from the Ansar was dying, so he said to his son: O my son, I advise you with a piece of advice, so memorize it, for if you do not memorize it from me, you are likely not to memorize it from anyone else. Fear Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and if you can be better than you were yesterday, and tomorrow better than you are today, then do so. Beware of greed, for it is a present poverty. Adhere to despair, for you will not despair of anything but Allah will make you independent of it. Beware of everything that requires an apology, for there is no apology for good. If someone from the children of Adam stumbles, then praise Allah that you are not him. When you stand for your prayer, then pray the prayer of farewell, and you see that you will never pray after it.
