The Renaissance Dam: A New American Weapon to Break the Will of Egypt and Its People
And to Prevent Their Emancipation from Dependency
Since Ethiopia announced the construction of the Renaissance Dam on the Blue Nile in 2011, the chapters of a major political and strategic crime have unfolded, seen by those with keen insight not as just a water facility or a development project, but as a new colonial tool used by America to dominate the region, especially Egypt, the heart of the Muslim world, which is meant to remain submissive and bowed down under the weight of economic, political, and even water pressures, in a new form of indirect warfare.
Despite the official Ethiopian rhetoric about the "right to development," the truth is that the Renaissance Dam was never an independent Ethiopian decision, but rather the result of well-studied American plans dating back to the 1950s, when the American company Brown and Root, under the supervision of the American Reclamation Bureau, conducted studies on building dams on the Blue Nile. The current location of the dam has been determined since that time, as one of the most prominent projects that allows America to impose water control over Egypt and Sudan.
This dam, then, is the product of the American vision for the region, part of its tools to redraw the map of dependency in Africa, especially its east, and just as America occupied the sources of wealth in the Gulf through client rulers, today it controls the sources of the Nile through influence in Addis Ababa.
Ethiopia is nothing more than a tool in the hands of America, which moves it and adjusts the timing of its messages based on its interests in the region, just as it controls the Egyptian regime, which pretends to be in opposition but does not dare to take any principled stance or decisive decision.
The Renaissance Dam cannot be separated from the policy of starvation and restriction that America is practicing on the people of Egypt. Water is the lifeblood, and withholding a large part of it behind this dam enables it to wave thirst in the face of the people of Egypt, and to control their political and volitional decision.
America has supported this dam not only with money, but also with full political and diplomatic support, as it stood in all international and regional forums to thwart any attempt to pressure Ethiopia or force it to sign a binding agreement, and today it blesses its completion, and is preparing to invest it in policies of pressure on the peoples of the region, especially Egypt and Sudan.
The Egyptian regime, while claiming sovereignty, has not moved since the start of the dam's construction except as permitted by America. It did not move when Ethiopia announced the dam in 2011, and it did not move when the first filling began, and it did not move even after the fourth filling. And now, after Ethiopia announced the completion of its filling, the regime issues statements of "reservation" and "formal rejection", without taking any practical action, but continues security and intelligence cooperation with Washington and Tel Aviv, at a time when the lives of millions are threatened!
Why? Because this regime is not a real ruler, but an employee of its mistress America, implementing its policies drawn for it, not exceeding the limits allowed to it, no matter how grave the threats to which the country is exposed.
This is the case of all the existing regimes today in the Muslim countries; functional, client regimes that do not have the decision, and do not move except according to the agendas of the West, and the satisfaction of the colonizer.
The Nile is not the property of Egypt, Ethiopia, or Sudan as nation-states that arose after colonialism, but it is public property, subject to its rulings, and it is strictly forbidden for any entity to withhold its waters or manipulate them to impose a new reality on Muslims.
How can we imagine that Egypt is prevented from the water of the Nile, or that it is withheld behind a dam controlled by Ethiopia - that is, America in reality - but how can Muslims remain silent about this aggression, which is no less than military occupation?!
If taking care of affairs is the responsibility of the state, then preventing this aggression is obligatory upon it, not by complaining to the Security Council or by statements of rejection, but by liberating the political will from dependency, and by using force if necessary to deter the aggressor and restore rights, Allah Almighty said: ﴿Then whoever transgresses against you, then transgress against him in the like manner as he has transgressed against you﴾.
The issue of the Renaissance Dam, like all the issues and crises of the Ummah, proves that the problem is not only in the dam, nor only in Ethiopia, but in the absence of the Islamic state that takes care of the affairs of the people, prevents aggression against them, and preserves their water, food, and political security.
Therefore, the religious and political duty on the Islamic Ummah is to work seriously to establish the Rightly Guided Caliphate on the method of Prophethood, which removes the borders between them, unites them in one entity, and makes the Nile a public property preserved for all its subjects.
O sincere ones in the army of Kinana, O righteous sons of Egypt, O you in whose chests the heat of faith and the zeal of Islam still reside, O you who have sworn to protect Egypt and its people, and to be a sword for Islam, not a whip for tyrants:
Has the time not come for the truth to be spoken?! Has the time not come for you to stand the stand of Omar, Khalid, and Saladin?! Has the time not come for you to remove this treacherous group that has handed over our necks to the enemy, and sold the water of the Nile for a cheap price in the market of dependency?! The dam that was built in the upper Nile is not just a dam, but an American poisoned dagger waiting for the right moment to stab your people in the heart of their lives.
History is writing, and you are today facing an opportunity that will not be forgotten: either you will be men whom Allah writes victory and empowerment at their hands, so you establish the rule of Islam and its state, and cut off America's hand from Egypt and its people, or you will remain silent and submissive, and the burden of silence and betrayal will be written upon you until the Day of Judgment!
Be supporters of this religion as the Ansar were in Medina, raise the banner of Islam, declare the removal of the client regime, and make Egypt the starting point for liberating the Ummah from all hegemony and colonialism, and establishing the Rightly Guided Caliphate that preserves the water of the Nile, the blood of Muslims, and their dignity.
It is your hour, so rise for Allah the rise of the truthful... Victory is waiting for you, and Allah does not waste the reward of those who do good deeds.
﴿And what is [the matter] with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children...﴾
