Danish State Intervention in Muslim Family Life (2014)

As part of the agreement reached between the political parties in Copenhagen Municipality for the year 2013, one million kroner was allocated to support combating the so-called phenomenon of social control prevalent in expatriate families. With broad political consensus, the Copenhagen Municipality's Integration Committee adopted an action plan whose stated goal is "freedom and safe upbringing for minority youth." This action plan culminated in a study issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs under the title "Youth in 2011," which concluded that the phenomenon of social control in expatriate families is widespread, particularly in issues related to marital relationships, sexual relationships, and gender equality. Based on this finding, young people of foreign origin were called upon to revolt against their parents!!!
