Uzbekistan: Mourning the Carrier of the Call

With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn for our Islamic Ummah another son from among its pious and steadfast sons, and we do not praise anyone before Allah. Our brother Mirza Ahmed Miraziz passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, and the funeral prayer was held for him yesterday, Saturday. Miraziz was born in Tashkent in 1970. He was one of the thousands of sincere and courageous Muslims who responded to Hizb ut-Tahrir's call to the people of Uzbekistan to work to resume the Islamic way of life.

Miraziz, like many other young people, was arrested and sentenced to a long prison term in his prime during the era of the oppressive and bloody Karimov regime. After about 20 years in prison, in 2025, at the age of 55, he was released, almost dead, due to severe physical and psychological torture in prison.

This young believer, who spent almost half of his life in damp prisons, remained true to his promise to Allah and did not bow to the bloody Karimov regime, did not recognize it, and did not accept anything other than the Khilafah state that implements the rulings of Allah.

We ask Allah Almighty to have mercy on our brother Miraziz and grant him wellness, and to place him among the believers about whom He said: ﴿Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration.﴾.

We also express our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of our brother and pray to Allah to grant them beautiful patience and steadfastness. In this context, we can only say: ﴿Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.﴾.
