Epidemics are Killing People in the Absence of a Welfare State
The triad of environmental diseases; cholera, dengue fever, and malaria, are killing people in Khartoum, Al-Jazirah, and the Darfur states, in light of terrible negligence and a shameful absence of the government, which calls itself the Government of Hope! What hope is this when people live in an environment that is not even suitable for animals, an environment controlled by disease vectors, from malaria mosquitoes, dengue mosquitoes, and flies?!
Diseases have entered every home and spared no one, especially in Khartoum, where no home is free of dengue patients, and the state, represented by the Ministry of Health, is not moving a finger except to count the sick and the dead, and by doing so they think they are doing well! The government spends money on things that are of no benefit to the people, and works to waste public money on everything except the health of the country's helpless people! Were the expenses and allowances of the delegation that traveled to New York to attend a United Nations conference, from which no benefit or good is expected for the country and its people; were they not enough to spray Khartoum and other afflicted areas, and eliminate disease vectors?! But why would they do that when they are executioners set upon the necks of the people, and employees who raise numbers and statistics, and beg their masters in the World Health Organization and others?!
People have given up their rights when they allowed politicians like these, agents of capitalist colonial countries, to usurp their authority and govern them with other than the system of Islam, so the idea that the state is the guardian of the affairs of the people disappeared.
In the system of Islam, the Prophet ﷺ paid attention to health, and urged medical treatment and treatment for all. A doctor was given to him as a gift, so he made him available to the public. The hospital (treatment tent) was next to the Prophet's Mosque, and it was supervised by the honorable female Companion Rufaida Al-Aslamia. The caliphs and princes in the Khilafah state throughout its glorious eras also established hospitals to treat patients, and dispensed the necessary treatment free of charge to the people, regardless of their gender, religion, or sect, whether they were rich or poor.
The people of Sudan, and the world, are in dire need today of this care and responsibility that the Rightly Guided Khilafah state will undertake, which is the real hope and savior for humanity.
