Al-Raya Newspaper: Outcomes of the US President's Meeting
with His Chinese Counterpart in South Korea
US President Trump and Chinese President Xi held a 100-minute meeting in South Korea on 10/30/2025 on the sidelines of the 32nd meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, which resulted in agreements on matters they announced in their statements.
Trump described the meeting as "wonderful," and said: "We have already agreed on many things and will agree on more now... I think we will have a wonderful relationship for a long time." After the meeting, he said on his plane: "The tariffs imposed by America on China will be reduced from 57% to 47%... All issues related to rare metals have been resolved, and the agreement on them will last for one year, to be extended later... China has agreed to start purchasing American energy products... And the Chinese President has given permission to resume the purchase of American soybeans, white corn, and other agricultural products... And China may purchase large quantities of oil and gas from the state of Alaska... He will visit China next April, and Xi will visit America at a later date."
Xi said: "Chinese development is in line with Trump's vision to make America great again... I have said publicly that China and America should be partners and friends, and that is what the world needs," and he called on his American counterpart "to keep communication channels between the two countries open." He addressed him, saying: "I am ready to work with you today to build a solid foundation for relations between China and America."
It appears from these statements that there was an understanding between them on the topics that we announced, which are related to the economic aspect. Although they are economically important to America, they are important to it in its attempt to attract China to it and distance it from Russia, and in the containment policy that it is working to achieve. These understandings are considered inducements for China for that purpose.
Trump tried to give the impression that there were no longer any differences with China and that he had agreed with it on everything, as part of his method of achieving quick victories and successes to show his greatness and his goal of making America great again.
There are very important political matters that he did not announce were touched upon in their meeting, such as Russian-Chinese relations, the war in Ukraine, the issue of Taiwan, the arms race, the development of nuclear missiles, and the issue of advanced technology and artificial intelligence. These are things that cannot be resolved in 100 minutes or in 100 days.
America wants to conclude a trilateral agreement with Russia and China to prevent them from developing their strategic weapons, especially hypersonic nuclear missiles, but it has not obtained that yet, and for this reason, it will work to provide inducements to China, just as it provides inducements to Russia regarding Ukraine, in the hope that it will obtain that.
China does not appear to want to give up its strong relations with Russia in favor of America, which is working to undermine this relationship and bring China closer to it, because it realizes that America will betray it in the future when it isolates it, and then begin to put pressure on it in many areas. China's relations with Russia are considered a weapon and a winning card it has against American pressures and threats, and force America to come to an understanding with it on what it wants.
It does not want to support America in Ukraine against Russia, because it has a similar problem, which is the annexation of Taiwan, which America is working to complicate to prevent it from achieving it, and it has accepted One China since 1979, which means the annexation of Taiwan to China.
It does not want to concede on the issue of developing strategic weapons, especially nuclear missiles. This is what strengthens its position towards America, and if that did not exist, it would be easy for America to dominate it until it entered its home, struck its entity, and dismantled its unity. Any country that wants complete independence in its position and to preserve its entity and unity must have weapons that intimidate the enemy.
These economic agreements are not guaranteed; America is quick to turn against them, because this is its nature. It announces an agreement in any field, but it quickly reneges on it or violates it and justifies for itself its violation and breach if it sees that it no longer achieves its interests or that it affects its sovereignty, because the focus of its policy is its interests and sovereignty. For this reason, it seeks to extend its influence everywhere and strike the influence of other countries, whether they are friendly or hostile.
For this reason, you see it inciting other countries against China, working to form alliances against it, and strengthening its military bases around it. The speech of its President Trump on board the aircraft carrier George Washington and in front of his soldiers in Japan on 10/28/2025, before his summit with Xi, confirms this. He boasts, puffed up, "We have weapons that no one has the slightest idea about. They are the most powerful in the world and more advanced than anything any other party possesses." He threatens with arrogance, "Any power in the world that wants to surpass us, we will destroy it." So, he sent threatening messages to China before meeting its president.
Whoever abandons his weapons and trusts the promises of his enemy is surrendering himself to him. After the fall of the Soviet Union, Kazakhstan gave up 1,000 nuclear missiles because its rulers trusted Russia to protect them, and Ukraine gave up 1,200 nuclear missiles, trusting in American and Russian pledges to maintain its security, so they fell into what they fell into.
From here, it becomes clear to us that Trump's move towards understanding with China, and showing that he succeeded in that, came after his failure to understand with Russia. After his preliminary meeting with its President Putin in Alaska on 8/16/2025 to resolve the outstanding problems between them, foremost of which is the Ukrainian war, he wanted to meet with him in Hungary last month before his meeting with the Chinese President in South Korea, but he canceled this meeting because he learned through his diplomats who were preparing for the meeting, led by his Foreign Minister, who made a tense phone call with his Russian counterpart, that he would not achieve his demands.
It was as if Trump wanted to send a message to Russia: We have agreed with China, and we will be able to win it over and distance it from you, so you only have to come to an understanding with us, or you will lose.
However, the original contentious issues between America and China are still unresolved, and for this reason, Trump will visit China next April in an attempt to reach an agreement on them in light of the impasse in finding a solution with Russia currently, which must have understood Trump's tricks, unless it sees movements from China indicating its distancing from it, and this has not been observed so far.
Thus, these evil forces conspire against each other and against others, especially against the Islamic nation, and this requires the nation to establish the state of good, the Caliphate, on the method of the Prophet to stand in its face and rid the world of its evils.
