The Jewish occupation army carried out raids on Sunday-Monday night in the village of Tranjeh in the northern Quneitra countryside, with the participation of more than 100 personnel and about 20 military vehicles, coinciding with reconnaissance aircraft flying in the area. Local sources reported that the occupation forces stormed homes in the village and assaulted a number of civilians, before withdrawing after carrying out raids and searches. On Sunday, a force affiliated with the occupation army also infiltrated the village of Al-Samdaniyah in the Quneitra countryside, and searched a number of homes before leaving the area.
Iraqi security forces arrested about 37 Syrian workers in the capital, Baghdad, as part of a series of restrictive measures practiced against Syrians since the fall of the former regime. Media sources reported that a security force raided "Sanabel Shamsin" bakeries in the Al-Dora area, and stormed the workers' sleeping quarters while they were sleeping, taking them for investigation. The sources explained that initial investigations indicate accusations related to loyalty to the new Syrian government, noting that some of the detainees hold official residencies issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior, while others lack regular residency papers. These arrests come a week after the Iraqi authorities sentenced the Palestinian-Syrian young man, Abdul Rahman Saleh, to six years in prison in Baghdad, on charges of "insulting state symbols" against the backdrop of a picture of the Syrian President, Ahmed Al-Shara, as the background of his mobile phone.
On Sunday, a convoy of relief and food aid, accompanied by shipments of domestic gas, arrived in the governorate of Sweida, southern Syria, via the Busra al-Sham humanitarian corridor. The aid was brought in under the supervision of the Syrian Red Crescent, and includes basic food and relief materials, in addition to two domestic gas tankers. This convoy comes as part of a series of relief convoys that are continuously sent to Sweida. Earlier today, the director of the First Automated Bakery in Sweida said that the arrival of an emergency batch of flour had contributed to easing the overcrowding at the bakeries during the past two days.
Sources close to the two sheikhs of the Druze sect, Youssef Jarboa and Hamoud Al-Hanawi, confirmed that they were subjected to intense pressure from the movement led by Sheikh Aql Hikmat Al-Hajri to come out with public positions criticizing the Syrian authority in Damascus. The sources explained to the "Sham" network that the two sheikhs live under house arrest that prevents them from leaving, amid threats of their liquidation or disappearance, with accusations against armed groups of responsibility for those threats. The sources stated that the appearance of Sheikhs Jarboa and Al-Hanawi in speeches and statements criticizing the authority in Damascus on the same day, and more than a week after the end of the recent clashes in Sweida, confirms the validity of what was previously published about the persecution and restrictions practiced by Al-Hajri's militias on voices that call for dialogue away from separatist agendas. Sheikh Al-Hajri had previously issued a statement on Saturday in which he accused the Syrian government of committing what he described as "systematic genocide" against the people of the governorate, calling for urgent international intervention and the opening of UN investigations. In a remarkable precedent, Al-Hajri thanked US President Trump "for his clear position in supporting minorities and rejecting tyranny", and also thanked "the government and people of the Jewish entity for their humanitarian intervention", in addition to his gratitude to the Arab Gulf states and the Autonomous Administration in northern and eastern Euphrates for what he considered "support for their people in Sweida". The statement also called for "the withdrawal of all armed groups outside the administrative borders of Sweida", in preparation for consolidating the influence of his forces over the entire region.
The US Special Envoy to Syria, Thomas Barak, claimed that Washington is working in coordination with its regional and international partners in order to reach a future that achieves peace and security for the Syrian people, in the context of his comment on the expected Jordanian-Syrian-American meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to discuss developments in the Syrian file. Barak wrote on the "X" platform on Sunday: "This commitment affirms our collective determination to move towards a future in which Syria and all its people can live in peace, security and prosperity." Amman is scheduled to host a tripartite meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, that includes the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Al-Safadi, the Syrian Minister, Asaad Al-Shibani, in addition to the US Special Envoy and representatives of the concerned institutions in the three countries, as a continuation of the discussions of July 19, 2025, which focused on consolidating the ceasefire in Sweida and discussing ways to resolve its crisis, enhance stability and reconstruction.
On Sunday evening, the UN Security Council called on all countries to respect Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity, expressing its concern over the violence that erupted in the Sweida governorate in the south of the country. In a presidential statement to the United Nations, following a session of the Security Council regarding Sweida, the Council called on all parties to abide by the ceasefire agreement and ensure the protection of civilians. It strongly condemned the events that led to a large number of civilian casualties in Sweida. The Council welcomed the statement issued by the Syrian Interim Authorities in which it announced the condemnation of the acts of violence and the taking of measures to investigate them and hold those responsible accountable. It also called on the Syrian government to ensure that credible, prompt, transparent, impartial and comprehensive investigations are conducted in accordance with international standards. It called for full, safe, rapid and unimpeded humanitarian access for the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to Sweida and all affected areas throughout Syria. On the 675th day of the war of extermination on Gaza, Al Jazeera correspondents in Gaza City, Anas Al-Sharif and Muhammad Qurayaqa, and 3 members of the photography crew were martyred yesterday evening, Sunday, in a shelling by the Jewish entity that targeted a tent for journalists in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. The occupation army admitted - in a statement - targeting journalist Anas Al-Sharif in the Gaza Strip. For his part, the director of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza confirmed: that the occupation is preparing for a major massacre in Gaza without sound or image, so it killed the Al Jazeera correspondents. The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs objected to the statements issued by Ali Velayati, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, stressing that they constitute a blatant and unacceptable interference in Lebanese internal affairs. The Lebanese Foreign Ministry said in a statement: "This is not the first intervention of its kind, as some Iranian officials have continued to make suspicious statements on internal Lebanese decisions that do not concern Iran at all." The ministry added: "These rejected practices will not be accepted by the Lebanese state under any circumstances, and it will not allow any external party to speak in the name of its people or claim the right of guardianship over its sovereign decisions. The Lebanese Foreign Ministry stated in its statement that "it is more appropriate for the leadership in Iran to pay attention to the issues of its people and focus on securing their needs and aspirations, instead of interfering in matters that do not concern them, stressing that the future of Lebanon and its policies are decisions taken by the Lebanese alone, away from any interference, dictates, pressure or abuse.
