The danger of viewing power as a cake to be divided
Under this title, Hizb ut-Tahrir / Sudan Province held its monthly forum (Nation Issues Forum), at the party's office in Port Sudan today, Saturday, 10 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to 07/05/2025 AD.
The forum, which was attended by a group of journalists and others, featured speeches by Mr. Muhammad Jami Abu Ayman, Assistant Official Spokesman for Hizb ut-Tahrir in Sudan Province, and Mr. Al-Nazeer Mukhtar, a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
After Mr. Ibrahim Musharraf, the platform officer and member of the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Sudan Province, welcomed the guests, he gave the opportunity to the first speaker, Abu Ayman, who presented a paper in which he explained that the problem of governance in Sudan is based on the separation of religion from politics. Therefore, the view of power was that it is a spoil and a cake, over which politicians have been fighting since the departure of the colonizer until today, referring to what is happening now of tensions regarding the formation of a government headed by Kamel Idris, and the insistence of the armed movements participating in power on their share, despite the talk that the government will be composed of competent people, not quotas. But the issue of quotas is present as it was in Hamdok's government and others, citing statements by Minawi, and the spokesman for the Justice and Equality Movement, so all these governments fail to address the issues of the people. He concluded that this view must change in order for things to improve.
Then Mr. Al-Nazeer Mukhtar spoke about Islam's view of power as a trust and responsibility, and that the ruler is only given allegiance by the nation, the owner of authority, to govern it with the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, to take care of its affairs with the laws of Islam.
Then the opportunity was opened for interventions, and there were two interventions from a journalist from the Sudan News Agency, and another from the Al-Halab News website, who asked some questions related to participation in government, the vision of Hizb ut-Tahrir for the next stage, and its relations and contacts with politicians, and the speakers answered them, as there were also questions received by the platform through the media that were answered.
