Al-Radar: Crimes in the State are Eliminated by Applying Sharia Punishments
By Professor/Abdullah Hussein (Abu Nasser)
Incidents of looting, robbery, and theft (nine long ones) are renewed; they are the ones who threaten passers-by on public roads with weapons, rob them of their money, and assault them. This happens repeatedly morning and evening in the Al-Kalakla Al-Wahda area, south of Khartoum, the capital, and in many cities of Sudan. Last week, a man was assaulted, threatened with a weapon, and his phone was stolen, to everyone's surprise. Then they fled on a motorcycle, then went to another street and robbed and assaulted a second and third person, all within hours, and in one area, with repeated occurrences of such incidents in recent days in the suburbs of Khartoum, the Jabal Awliya and Omdurman areas, Port Sudan, and others.
In light of these repeated events, the fact emerges that these criminals have secured impunity, so they have continued their crimes without finding a deterrent from the state. This is because the state is not based on the nation's creed, nor does it apply its deterrent and prohibitive rulings.
Islam has obligated the state to provide security, by having a police force equipped with the means and methods that enable it to maintain internal security, competently and professionally, and implement the deterrent Sharia punishments. God Almighty said: ﴿INDEED, THE PENALTY FOR THOSE WHO WAGE WAR AGAINST ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER AND STRIVE UPON EARTH [TO CAUSE] CORRUPTION IS NONE BUT THAT THEY BE KILLED OR CRUCIFIED OR THAT THEIR HANDS AND FEET BE CUT OFF FROM OPPOSITE SIDES OR THAT THEY BE EXILED FROM THE LAND. THAT IS FOR THEM A DISGRACE IN THIS WORLD, AND FOR THEM IN THE HEREAFTER IS A GREAT PUNISHMENT﴾. And on the authority of Abdullah bin Umar, may God be pleased with them, "That the Prophet ﷺ cut off for a shield whose value - and in one version: its price - was three dirhams."
If these Sharia, hadd, and deterrent punishments are applied, they will inevitably deter criminals and eliminate this phenomenon that has spread greatly and disturbingly in areas controlled by the army (the state) and areas controlled by the Rapid Support Forces.
In the time of the Ottoman Caliphate, thanks to its establishment on Islam and the application of Sharia rulings in politics, governance, economics, society, the judiciary, and others, the subjects enjoyed security, peace, and tranquility, and such crimes were rare.
The traveler Motray says: (I stayed in the Ottoman Empire for fourteen years, and incidents of theft were as rare as other incidents. As for Istanbul, thefts are very rare. The punishment for those who cut off the road in the Ottoman Empire was death on the stake, and during the fourteen years I lived in Istanbul, that punishment was carried out only six times, and they were all from the Roman race. Cutting off the road is not known about the Turks, and therefore there is no fear for pockets from pickpocketing).
As for Sir James Porter, who was an ambassador in Istanbul, he said about that, despite his hostility to the Turks and to Islam: (Incidents such as cutting off roads and looting houses were as if they were unknown in Ottoman society. In war or peace, the road was as safe as houses, and anyone could walk alone on the main roads in all Ottoman countries. It is surprisingly the few incidents significantly, despite the large number of trips and travelers. In several years, one may encounter some rare incidents).
Abu Jinni mentions: (In that great capital, they leave their shops open every day, and at the appointed times they go to pray, and at night they lock the doors of their houses as usual with a wooden lock, and despite that, theft only occurs three or four times a year. As for Galata and Bek Oglu, which are famous for most of their inhabitants being Christians, not a day passes without thefts and felonies occurring in them).
One of the English travelers published in the Daily News about security and integrity in the Ottoman Empire, where he says: (One day I rented a transport cart from a villager to transport my belongings and the belongings of a Hungarian officer friend of mine, and all the boxes and belongings were open and exposed, including coats, furs, and scarves, so I wanted to buy some dried herbs, so one of the Turks who are characterized by kindness and taste asked me to accompany me, then the man took the bulls out of the cart and left it in the middle of the road with our belongings, and when I saw him moving away, I called out to him, saying: (Someone must stay here, so he said: Why? So I said: To guard our belongings, so the Turkish Muslim said: Why is that? Don't worry, if your belongings remain in this place for a whole week, day and night, no one will touch them, and I also insisted on my request and left, and when I returned I found everything in its place, as the Ottoman soldiers were passing by the place constantly. This fact that confronts the eye must be announced to all Christians from the pulpits of churches in London, as some of them will think that this is just a dream, but they must wake up from this slumber).
This is what the enemies and opponents, the orientalist European travelers, testified to about the state of security and safety in the Islamic state, thanks to its establishment on Islam and the application of its rulings. As for today, and under the functional national ministates engineered by the infidel colonizer to achieve his interests and malicious colonial goals, and based on the creed of separating religion from the state, and imposed on them the application of the capitalist system, the lives of Muslims have been corrupted politically, economically, socially, and security-wise, and crimes have increased, from robbing money, killing, shedding blood, violating honor, and others.
Security and tranquility will only be found with the establishment of the Caliphate, and this is the duty of the hour and time. On the authority of Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: «THE IMAM IS BUT A SHIELD, HE IS FOUGHT FROM BEHIND HIM AND PROTECTED BY HIM».
