The Radar: So that we may turn you to a Qiblah with which you are pleased, O Burhan
By Professor / Ihab Al-Nakhli
In the Battle of Uhud, when the archers disobeyed the Prophet’s command, may God bless him and grant him peace, and abandoned their positions in greed for spoils, victory turned into defeat, and the pure blood of the Companions flowed in a timeless lesson on the importance of military discipline. The reason for the defeat was not the small number or the weakness of the equipment, but rather the absence of commitment and obedience to the commander’s orders, which proves that victory is not made by swords alone, but by faith, discipline, and unity of purpose.
The Islamic army throughout history was not a traditional army, but rather an army that carried faith in its heart, worship in its behavior, and sincerity for God alone in its intention. The battles were fought with the spirit of faith, not the spirit of revenge, and with the aim of raising the banner of Islam, not the banner of the tribe or personal interests. Therefore, it was not defeated in a battle except when these constants were disrupted, as happened in Uhud.
As for today, Sudan is witnessing a fierce war between the army and the Rapid Support militia, which has lasted for years, claimed lives, displaced millions, and destroyed infrastructure, without resolution or end. This war reveals the absence of combat doctrine, the dispersion of the goal, and the disintegration of leadership, which makes the comparison painful between an army that was invincible and an army that prolongs battles without resolution.
What is required today is not more weapons, but rather redirecting the compass towards a Qiblah that the nation is pleased with: the Qiblah of faith, discipline, unity of ranks, and sincerity of intention for God. The Sudanese army must adopt a sound approach, strike the militias with an iron fist, integrate the armed movements under one banner, and disarm every faction outside the state, to preserve the unity of the country that it swore to protect, and raise the banner of Islam in Sudan, and thus attain the honor of this world and the hereafter.
Let the fighting be worship, victory a gift from God, and the Qiblah to which we turn our faces is the Qiblah of truth, not the Qiblah of interests.
