Al-Radar: Nation's Issues Forum - The Danger of Viewing Power as a Cake to be Divided
Al-Radarnews
Under this title, Hizb ut-Tahrir / Wilayah of Sudan held its monthly forum (Nation's Issues Forum) at the party's office in Port Sudan city today, Saturday, 10 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to 07/05/2025 AD.
The forum, which was attended by a group of journalists and others, featured speeches by Mr. Muhammad Jamie Abu Ayman, Assistant Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Wilayah of Sudan, and Mr. Al-Nadhir Mukhtar, a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
After Mr. Ibrahim Musharraf, the platform officer and member of the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Wilayah of Sudan, welcomed the guests, he gave the opportunity to the first speaker, Abu Ayman, who presented a paper in which he explained that the problem of governance in Sudan is based on the separation of religion from politics. Thus, power was viewed as spoils and a cake, over which politicians have been fighting since the departure of the colonizer to this day, pointing to the current tensions regarding the formation of a government headed by Kamel Idris, and the insistence of the armed movements participating in the government on their share, despite talk that the government will consist of qualified people, not quotas. However, the issue of quotas is present as it was in Hamdok's government and others, citing the statements of Minawi, and the spokesman for the Justice and Equality Movement, therefore all these governments fail to address the issues of the people. He concluded that this view must change in order for things to improve.
Then, Mr. Al-Nadhir Mukhtar spoke about Islam's view of power as a trust and responsibility, and that the ruler is given allegiance by the nation, the holder of authority, to govern it according to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, to care for its affairs according to the laws of Islam.
Then the opportunity was opened for interventions, and there were two interventions from a journalist from the Sudan News Agency, and another from the Al-Halb News website, who asked some questions related to participation in the government, Hizb ut-Tahrir's vision for the next stage, and its relations and contacts with politicians, and the speakers answered them. There were also questions received by the platform through the media that were answered.
