Al-Radar News: Hizb ut-Tahrir Holds Political Address in Port Sudan
Hizb ut-Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan held its weekly political address today, Monday, Dhu al-Hijjah 20, 1446 AH, corresponding to 06/16/2025 AD, in front of the Al-Haramain Hotel in the Grand Market in Port Sudan. A crowd of people witnessed it.
This week's address was entitled: (The Caliphate is the System of Governance in Islam). In it, the speaker, Professor Yaqoub Ibrahim, a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir, addressed the invalidity of the existing systems in the Islamic world, but rather in the whole world, and that the system of governance approved by Islam is the Caliphate system, and that the system of governance in Islam is neither a democratic republic, nor a monarchy, nor an empire, nor a federation, nor a mixture of this and that, and he cited the verses of ruling according to what God has revealed, and the hadiths of the Caliphate, including the hadith of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, which says: (The Children of Israel were governed by the prophets; whenever a prophet died, another prophet succeeded him, but there will be no prophet after me, and there will be caliphs who will be many.’ They said, ‘What do you command us to do?’ He said, ‘Fulfill the pledge of allegiance to the first one, then the first one, and give them their rights, for God will ask them about what He entrusted to them), and other evidence.
Then he cited the sayings of some scholars on the Caliphate, such as the saying of Imam Al-Ghazali: (Religion and authority are twins, and that is why it is said that religion is the foundation and authority is the guard, so what has no foundation is destroyed, and what has no guard is lost), and like the saying of Imam Al-Nasafi in his definition of Imamate: (Representation of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, in establishing the religion in a way that the entire nation must follow).
The speaker had explained the فرضية of working for the Caliphate, the فرضية of living under the Caliphate, and the حرمة of the nation living under a system other than the Caliphate system, which the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, said about it (The Imam is but a shield...). And the sin of abstaining from working to create this system that implements Islam and carries it as a message of guidance and light to bring people out of the darkness of disbelief that humanity lives in today, to the light of Islam.
The audience interacted with the address, in which the speaker answered a question regarding the possibility of establishing the Caliphate despite the circumstances that the nation is going through today, listing the material capabilities that the nation possesses, and giving glad tidings of our Lord’s promise: (Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them), and the glad tidings of our Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: (... then there will be a Caliphate according to the method of Prophethood). Among the most prominent reactions was that an elderly Sheikh warned against falling into what the Salvation Government fell into of hypocrisy with the slogan of Islam, and despite that, the people of Sudan love Islam, and he said: (If they are reassured about your proposal, they will stand with it strongly, and our Lord said, may God help you and we are with you).
Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
