Al-Sham and the Great Catastrophe
The tragedy of Al-Sham today lies in the vacuum of governance, the sterility of the ruler, and the absolute absence of a state project. We are facing a case of deviant politics of governance, rife with blindness to political insight and a complete lack of the conditions of governance and leadership. The presidency and administration in Al-Sham today are at the mercy of colonialism, its decisions are in its hands, and its policies are drawn by it, rather, its existence or non-existence is the same. The American colonizer, through his special envoy (High Commissioner) Tom Barak, is the one who runs Al-Sham.
Al-Sham today, after the fall of its butcher Bashar, is a political hostage of America, reserved and restricted by its colonial policy and foreign influence. America has turned the Damascus administration into a tool to achieve its colonial goals. And here is America wreaking havoc and corruption in Al-Sham through its envoy Tom Barak and his insidious machinations to achieve its colonial goals through its strategic base, the entity of the Jews, and even through its most despicable tools of the scum of treacherous Druze, Alawites, and Kurds who have become running amok and wreaking havoc and have a say in the matter of Al-Sham and the politics of its people, and worse than that, through Ahmed al-Shara and his inner circle in Damascus.
The paradox today, the calamity of Al-Sham, and its great catastrophe lie in the vacuum of governance and the absence of the state. There is no ruler in Al-Sham, or even a quasi-ruler. Rather, we are facing a devastating vacuum at the level of governance and leadership. This anomalous situation has made it possible to pass major betrayals as policies and governing projects, even to the point that this administration, in its blindness to political insight and its subjection to American colonialism, has achieved and completed more betrayals in seven months than it took decades of conspiracies by the rulers of the colonial service in the region.
This anomalous political situation in Al-Sham today, as a result of these anomalous policies of the administration in Damascus, which is rushing in a reckless, rapid, and successive manner to end the revolution of Al-Sham by handing over Al-Sham to America, is a strange case of politics that a revolution for liberation from colonialism ends in tightening the shackles of colonialism!
America is determined to maintain its influence in Al-Sham under conditions and restrictions more accursed than its predecessors during the time of the butcher Bashar, and the Damascus administration is its submissive and obedient tool in implementing all its colonial machinations and insidious schemes, and its special envoy to Syria, Tom Barak, is truly its High Commissioner for administering and governing Al-Sham.
We are facing a special American envoy with the powers of a High Commissioner who has supreme authority in the fateful issues of Al-Sham in terms of legislation, governance, politics, the army, the economy, society, and administration. His statements to the New York Times in July 2025 revealed his role and powers and the road map that America drew for Al-Sham and entrusted to him to achieve its goals.
The most prominent of what was stated in it:
Syria and (Israel) are holding serious talks under American auspices to restore calm on the borders
The Trump administration wants Syria to join the Abraham Accords, but this may take time
President Al-Shara may face internal opposition regarding joining the Abraham Accords
Syrians cannot see their president forced to join those agreements, so he must act cautiously
Progress in the paths of democracy and inclusive governance in Syria will not be achieved quickly, and they are not part of the American standards
Washington realized that Syria cannot expel the remaining foreign fighters (mujahideen)
Foreign fighters may pose a threat to the new Syrian government if they are excluded
The Trump administration expects transparency regarding the roles assigned to foreign fighters in Syria
Lifting sanctions is intended to encourage changes, and it is more effective than keeping them in effect until specific demands are met...
We are facing a complete colonial mandate with its High Commissioner, its declared colonial goals, its road map to achieve its goals, and the Damascus government is a tool for implementation in it. This was translated through the intensive meetings of Tom Barak with both Ahmed al-Shara and his Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani. In a statement following the meeting that brought Tom Barak together with Ahmed al-Shara and Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani in May 2025 in Istanbul, he confirmed that the files that were discussed were related to the practical steps for the agreement with the Jews, and the measures that the Syrian government must take regarding the file of foreign fighters (the Mujahideen supporters of the revolution).
Then there is the meeting that took place at the People's Palace on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, which brought Tom Barak together with Ahmed al-Shara in the presence of Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, where four main files related to the situation in Syria were discussed, and the files that were discussed were related to:
The future political structure of the Syrian state according to America's vision and its employment of the file of small ethnic groups (Druze, Kurds, Alawites) in dismantling Syria and fragmenting its society.
Accelerating the implementation of the terms of the agreement between the Damascus government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is an agent of America, knowing that the agreement was an American design, and the goal is to integrate the SDF into the state and the army as part of a project to restructure the government and the army with new agents of colonialism, with a complete liquidation of the revolutionaries and Mujahideen from the government and army apparatuses.
The file of economic arrangements by activating the investment fund proposed by Tom Barak, which is considered the American mechanism to open the door for American companies to plunder the wealth of Al-Sham under the deception of reconstruction and development.
Arranging the situation of military forces in northeastern Syria, and the forces concerned with the matter are the American forces present in the northeastern region, that is, securing the Syrian government and its military and security apparatuses for the American colonial forces and guaranteeing their movement and protection.
Thus, the Damascus government ended as an administration and branch in the colonial mandate supervised and managed by the American special envoy Tom Barak with the powers and authorities of a High Commissioner, and it must implement its policies and complete its projects.
The recent Washington Post report on August 23, 2025, which is based on statements by Tom Barak, was clearly revealing about the American vision for Syria after Al-Assad and the formula of the future functional state. Barak made revealing statements about America's vision of the political structure of the functional state in Syria, which the newspaper conveyed, where he said: "It is not a federation, but a formula short of that allows everyone to preserve their own culture and language, without the threat of political Islam." America's goal is to dismantle Al-Sham to confront the project of civilizational Islam and unique Islamic unity.
All the poisonous colonial projects being put forward today are to serve the goal of dismantling, and are presented to the public as political options, and even necessities for managing the transitional phase, to falsify awareness and blind them to the betrayal. Among these insidious colonial projects are:
Flexible decentralization by granting local authorities to small ethnic groups under the supervision of the government in Damascus
International guarantees for the Alawites, Druze, and Kurds, under the pretext of reassuring them that they will not be subjected to exclusion or revenge
American Western oversight (specifically from colonial countries) to monitor the implementation of any new political formula and ensure balance.
Then, what is being plotted in the basements and corridors of American evil in terms of policies and conspiracies against Al-Sham, its Islam, and its people in service of the usurping Jewish entity is more terrible and bitter, and it is truly apostasy and regression towards subservience. Tom Barak stated "that the American administration is sponsoring indirect talks between Damascus and Tel Aviv aimed at restoring calm on the borders, and that the path towards joining the Abraham Accords will not be immediate," and added "that the American administration wants Syria to join the Abraham Accords... And it may take time to achieve."
This complete involvement in the Abraham Accords is America's great conspiracy to dissolve the Jewish entity in the region through a comprehensive normalization of relations with it, and the steps of the Damascus government have accelerated and its contacts with it have been successive as a prelude to normalization. One of the requirements of the step-by-step policy towards normalization was to carve out the south of Al-Sham and turn it into a buffer zone to secure the Jews, and the events in Suwayda were the largest part of the American conspiracy. In response to a question about the events in Suwayda from the publications of the eminent world leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Ata bin Khalil Abu al-Rashtah: "All of this confirms that America wants southern Syria to be a buffer and safe zone for the Jewish entity, and that it is satisfied with its repeated attacks until the regime submits to this situation for the sake of normalization... And that what happened from meetings in Azerbaijan and Paris are successive steps in this path... According to media leaks, one of the most prominent things being negotiated is: the establishment of a security buffer zone in southern Syria for the benefit of the Jewish entity, as is the case in Sinai between Egypt and the Jewish entity according to the peace agreement concluded by the Egyptian regime in 1979, which is still in effect, preventing the people of Egypt from moving to support their brothers in Gaza who are being subjected to genocide."
The Paris meeting was shockingly scandalous, a direct meeting on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, between the Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, and a delegation from the Jewish entity represented by the Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, and the meeting was under American supervision and management. This meeting, sponsored by the Trump administration, is the highest level of formal communication between the Jewish entity and Syria in more than 25 years. Tom Barak wrote on the X platform: "I met this evening with the Syrians and Israelis in Paris, our goal was dialogue and de-escalation, and we have already achieved that. All parties affirmed their commitment to continuing these efforts."
They are steps on the path of comprehensive normalization with the usurping entity, and walking in the paths of American politics and its colonial projects in returning Al-Sham to the colonial fold, wounded, and shackled with more fetters.
It is the great catastrophe, O people of Al-Sham, for Ahmed al-Shara and his inner circle are proceeding with handing over Al-Sham to America and normalizing relations with the entity that is usurping your blessed land and your Al-Sham. So how can you accept that the fate of your blessed revolution is to acknowledge the Jews' usurpation of your Al-Aqsa Mosque, the destination of your Prophet's night journey and ascension, and America's colonization of your Al-Sham?! How can you accept that the harvest of your blessed revolution is the colonization of your Al-Sham?!
