Al-Raya Newspaper: Begging Jews Does Not Liberate Land
or Preserve Security
The Syrian President for the transitional phase, Ahmed al-Shara, delivered a speech before the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, in the first appearance of a Syrian president since the era of Nur al-Din al-Atassi in 1967. Al-Shara reviewed his vision for the transitional phase during his speech, thanking countries that he said supported the Syrian people, and singled out Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and all Islamic countries, America and the European Union. Adding that "(Israeli) threats against our country have not subsided since December 8 to this day." However, he stressed that "Damascus is using dialogue and diplomacy to overcome this crisis, and pledges its commitment to the 1974 disengagement agreement, and calls on the international community to stand by it to face these risks."
In a speech during a summit on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Ahmed al-Shara said that the Jewish entity has committed many attacks on Syria since the new regime took over the rule of Damascus, considering the bombing of the Presidential Palace in early May as a declaration of war, adding that he has reached an advanced stage in security talks with the Jewish entity, hoping that it will preserve Syria's sovereignty and dispel Jewish security concerns. He continued that the first stage is the security agreement and if the entity has concerns, they can be discussed through mediators, pointing out that Syria is going in a direction that its lands do not pose any threat to any region. He stressed that the state of anger in Syria and around the world towards what is happening in Gaza affects his country's position towards the Abraham Accords, and he also renewed his call for Washington to lift the sanctions imposed on his country related to the Caesar Act.
In his meeting with General David Petraeus, the former military commander in Iraq and Afghanistan and the former director of the American Central Intelligence Agency, in a session held as part of Concordia University's annual conference on Security and Democracy, on Monday, September 22, 2025 in New York, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, al-Shara stated several statements, including:
- "Since our arrival in Damascus, (Israel) has carried out many attacks on Syria, it has approximately a thousand raids, in which it destroyed many Syrian military, security and civilian institutions as well"... "(Israel) has encroached 400 times by land inside Syrian territory, so we have stages in entering into negotiations with it."
- "Syria's policy is to have calm relations with all countries and not be a source of threat to anyone."
- We must look for ways of co-existence between Syrians and (Israelis) if we want an agreement.
- Syria seeks to avoid war because it is in a construction phase.
- The discussion is ongoing with (Israel) about the security agreement and we have reached advanced stages, and the ball is in the court of (Israel) and the international community in determining the real paths that we should enter into.
- There are overlapping interests between Syria, America and the West in the current stage.
One of the most dangerous things Petraeus said to al-Shara: "You have a lot of fans and I am one of them, we wish you success because in the end your success is our success."
During a dialogue session at the Middle East Institute in New York, Ahmed al-Shara said: "We cannot import ready-made systems or import systems from history and copy and apply them to Syria." In his speech about the Jewish entity, he said that "force alone will not bring (Israel) peace," adding: "We are not the ones who cause problems for (Israel), we are afraid of it and not the other way around!" Although the people of the revolution in the Levant are the proud and honorable people who humiliated the criminal regime and overthrew it with their patience, steadfastness, faith and certainty in the company of their Lord, may He be glorified, despite the nose of the Jews and despite the nose of its supporters, led by America and its conspiring and colluding United Nations.
It may seem to some that Ahmed al-Shara's visit to the United Nations and his speech in it is a progressive step and an unprecedented achievement, especially with the accompanying polishing and exaggeration on the ground and through politicized media, but this step reveals the extent of the predicament and danger we have reached after the overthrow of Bashar in light of the rush towards the United Nations and the international system controlled by America in order to gain satisfaction and acceptance instead of being proud of our religion and completing the application of the constants of our revolution after the company of God carried us to Damascus victorious. As the United Nations and its platform are not a source of justice, but rather an original partner in the crime committed against the people of the Levant over decades of time. In this council, the criminal Bashar was given a mandate to commit his massacres, and in it, the use of barrels, chemicals and types of bombing, repression and displacement were covered up, and in it, his existence was legalized through his seats and committees, while the Syrian people were being slaughtered and displaced. This organization has never been a supporter of the truth, but has always been a tool in the hands of the major powers to impose their policies and achieve their interests, even at the expense of the blood of the people of the Levant, so can grapes be hoped for from thorns?!
Going to the United Nations is not a victory or a cause for pride, but rather a dangerous political slide, as it means requesting legitimacy from the same entity that gave legitimacy to the criminal Bashar and allowed him to stay all those years.
The real legitimacy is not granted by an international body that has lost its credibility, but rather written by the people of the revolution with their blood, steadfastness and sacrifices that they made in the face of the conspirators, including this organization. Also, the evaluation of this visit is not taken from the flirting of the enemies, nor their yellow smiles, nor their malicious politicized media, but in what has been agreed upon and what has been imposed from decisions behind the scenes, whose catastrophic results will appear in the coming days, whether in the field of combating "extremism and terrorism", or imposing remnants of the regime in the decision-making position, or pushing towards normalization with the Jewish entity, or imposing a secular regime that separates religion from life, the state and society, on land whose people have been generous with nearly two million martyrs.
One of the most dangerous political traps is to strive to gain satisfaction, acceptance and involvement under the umbrella of the international system and the United Nations, as they are not charities, but rather colonial hyenas that want to subjugate peoples, seize the decisions of states, control them and their decisions, and force them to give absolute loyalty to the West led by America.
And in the absence of the Muslims' state and their Imam, the mere entry under the international umbrella imposes on the state to walk in the wake of what the colonial countries draw of lines, what they pass of resolutions, and what they impose of dictations, this is the truth away from any false mirage.
It is worthy of the people of the revolution to realize the danger of appeasing a colluding institution or a conspiring regime, but rather the duty is to expose what it has done and is doing of conspiracy, and to expose everyone who was an aid to the criminal defunct regime.
As for dealing with the Jewish entity, its arrogance, its high-handedness and its inflation, it is not done by extending ropes of leniency and appeasement with it, so no negotiation managed by America is useful with it, and no normalization or involvement in the crime of the Abraham Accords is permissible with it, as it is a usurping enemy that sheds our blood, and it is not permissible to deal with it according to national borders and "national Islam" promoted by the sheikhs of the Sultan and its scholars surrounding its tables, but rather it is the religion of dignity and pride, the religion of victory and support, the religion of conquest, victory and liberation, a religion whose title is: "I have helped you, O Amr bin Salem," it is the pulse of the nation from its east to its west, the nation that is burning for the day of the march and liberation. Our conflict with the Jews is a conflict of existence, not a conflict of borders, a conflict whose result God decided in His Book and His Prophet ﷺ in his hadiths.
The time has come for the era of begging the outside world to end, and the time has come for the era of subservience and servitude to criminal America, the real criminal, and its United Nations and its international system to end, and the time has come for our pride in Islam and its rule under the state that the Messenger of God ﷺ has given us glad tidings of its return, it is the second Rightly Guided Caliphate, by it alone we will be honored again, and we will return as masters of the world, and by it alone we will carry Islam as a message of justice and mercy to the entire world, standing tall, confident, and raising our heads with the pride of Islam, not lowering our heads as humble to the enemies of Islam who are waiting for us, ﴿AND ALLAH IS PREVAILING IN HIS AFFAIR, BUT MOST OF THE PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW﴾.
