Al-Raya Newspaper: Manufacturing Despair and Discouragement Among Muslims
Praise be to God, who has no might except through His religion, and no life except through His law, and prayers and peace be upon the one who forbade submission except to God alone.
How true is the saying, "Nothing worries tyrants like the awakening of peoples." I would add: Nothing contributes to the awakening of peoples like awareness and optimism. Therefore, the colonizing infidel realized this irrefutable truth early on and began to fight these two specters threatening his existence simultaneously.
As for awareness, there were intellectual invasions, changes in education curricula, cultural programs, missions, groups of intellectuals imbued with Western culture, and other wars that have not stopped until now.
As for the war to break morale, instill a culture of defeat, and plant despair among young people, the West has enlisted agents from near and far, enemy and friend.
The West has no hope of keeping Muslim peoples asleep and submissive unless it can convince people that we do not deserve victory, and that there is no point in resistance, advocacy, or working for change.
In order to achieve this goal and bring the nation to this belief, huge and powerful actions are necessary.
The West knows the power of the Quran and Sunnah, and the stories of heroes that fill the pages of our glorious history, to instill hope and stir the spirit in souls. For this reason, it has harnessed all its energies on all levels to spread a culture of defeat and discouragement in souls.
I will only mention three roles that are the most dangerous and most provocative of a culture of discouragement and despair among people:
1- The role of intellectuals and thinkers imbued with Western culture:
Among these are those who hold the most dangerous positions as professors in schools, universities, cultural clubs, and others. The idea that they all agreed upon was to try to instill in the Muslim generation that their nation is lagging behind the progress of development, culture and modernity, and that the West is the pioneer in all fields, so that it is impossible to catch up with it or do without it. This is without referring to the role of the rulers appointed by the West to spread division and mortgage the country and its wealth to it, then to disable the Sharia, which is the source of progress and advancement, in addition to their role in supporting corruption and obstructing reformers. Thus, the student graduates with a heavy heart for his nation, having absorbed a sense of inferiority, helplessness, and surrender to the West and its culture.
It is not strange after this that the young man becomes despondent and hopeless, but perhaps if he is called to work for change, he will fight it and turn away from it, citing dozens of examples of his nation's backwardness that were instilled in him in schools and colleges.
2- The role of scholars and preachers:
Undoubtedly, the evil scholars had the greatest impact on spreading despair, distorting people's instincts, and convincing them that they do not deserve victory.
People rush to their sheikhs whenever a calamity befalls them or an aggressor attacks them, only to be surprised that they have sought refuge from the heat in the fire. They are met by sheikhs of defeat, scholars who are psychologically defeated, who have received Islam in a distorted way far from the correct Prophetic guidance. They spread their despair in the breaths of these young people and hold them responsible for everything that happens to them:
You are worthless, you do not deserve victory, our nation is backward and not ready to be ruled by Islam, all nations are better than you, this generation that we are in is not the generation of victory, it is necessary to raise another generation - without working for change - that is better than this, change is not what we make but we must wait for the Mahdi, what is happening is because of our sins (without referring to the role of the rulers), we can only pray...
The destructive speech ends without providing a solution or a plan of action, and without clarifying the Sharia ruling on rising up and changing this evil that we live in, but it is a flogging of the nation just as the enemies do.
Thus, the occupier roams and frolics, the Muslims prepare massacres after massacres, convinced that they have no power or ability even to defend themselves, no matter how weak and humiliated the aggressor is.
3- The role of the misleading media:
How true is the saying: "Our media is our execution." When the paid media, run by evil rulers, takes on the task of exaggerating the enemy's capabilities and marginalizing the nation's capabilities, when the media dedicates division and borders and makes them more sacred than the blood of brothers on its borders, when it hosts intellectual defects, the immoral and promoters of sin, or court sheikhs and dedicates satellite channels to them for hours, when our screens are filled with entertainment programs, nonsense and trivia, then do not ask me about the absence of feeling, the numbness of sensation, the spread of despair and the lack of resourcefulness.
In the face of this widespread and rampant epidemic among Muslims, I say:
Know that we are from a nation that God has forbidden to be humiliated, so He said: ﴿And do not be weakened and do not grieve, and you are the highest if you are believers.﴾
We are the sons of a nation that God is angry with if it thinks that God will not help it: ﴿Whoever thinks that God will not help him in this world and the hereafter, let him stretch a rope to the sky, then let him cut it off, and let him see if his plan will remove what enrages him.﴾ That is, let him hang himself and die, it is better for him.
God Almighty has forbidden us from despair, so He said: ﴿He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?"﴾ And He said: ﴿And those who disbelieve in the signs of God and His meeting - those have despaired of My mercy, and for those is a painful punishment.﴾
Even that He Almighty has linked despair with disbelief, saying: ﴿Indeed, no one despairs of relief from God except the disbelieving people.﴾ Imam al-Fakhr al-Razi commented on this verse, saying what means: The despairing person accuses God of stinginess, and of not knowing, and that He is not capable of everything, God forbid.
Brothers, young people:
Despair is an infectious anesthetic needle that paralyzes you and those around you. When our nation was convinced that its rulers would not go away, it sat roasting in their fire for decades. When it removed the gloom of despair and trusted in God and then in its ability, it rolled its rulers and uprooted heads that no one believed they would see removed.
By God, we possess all the characteristics of empowerment and the ability to assume the saddle of glory again, God willing; we possess the comprehensive belief, we possess the perfect role model, we possess the element of fresh youth, we possess huge wealth, we possess the strategic location, we possess brilliant minds and brains, we possess the clear roadmap, the Prophetic biography and the bright history. And above all, we have the near glad tidings.
In the midst of our nation and despite all the obstacles, there are sincere advocates, there are skilled memorizers, there are steadfast mujahideen.
By God, the West trembles whenever it sees a serious movement, and it can hardly sleep for fear that this nation will unite behind a divine leader again.
By God, the West reads with trembling the annual statistics of the increase in converts to Islam from the ranks of the West in a way that threatens their rotten principle, and they warn each other that within four decades Islam will be the first religion globally. This is without a comprehensive state, a caliph, or an oath of allegiance, so what if all this were the case?
Young people:
Trust in God, trust in your nation, trust in yourselves and your ability to change, trust that you and no one else are the generation of victory as long as you hold fast to God and reject the advocates of despair.
Our Messenger loved optimism, so he said ﷺ: «Give glad tidings to this nation of ease, glory, and elevation in religion, empowerment in the lands, and victory.» If we were weightless, why wouldn't the infidels stop fighting us? Because they are not fighting a delusion, but fighting a real enemy and they know that our nation only lacks a divine leader to unite its ranks. So trust in God and work with those who are working for this day, may God make its dawn near by His power and strength.
