With the Hadith
The Real Work for Change and the Day of Judgment
We greet you all, dear friends everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting, so peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
It was mentioned in Fath al-Bari, Explanation of Sahih al-Bukhari by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani "with modification" in the chapter Saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "I and the Hour have been sent like these two":
Sa`id bin Abi Maryam told us: Abu Ghassan told us: Abu Hazim told us from Sahl who said: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, "I have been sent and the Hour (is approaching) as these two (fingers)." He pointed with his two fingers (i.e. forefinger and middle finger) together.
Dear listeners:
The Holy Qur’an has not ceased to warn us of the approach of the Day of Judgment, the Day of Reckoning, the day when man is stripped of everything except his deeds. God Almighty says: {Mankind's reckoning has drawn near to them, and they are heedless [of it] and turning away}, and He, Glory be to Him, says: {The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split [in two]}, and He, Glory be to Him, says: {And what may make you perceive that perhaps the Hour is near?}, and in this hadith, our noble Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, shows us the amount of time remaining until the Day of Judgment, which is the amount by which the middle finger exceeds the index finger.
O Muslims:
In light of this statement, the Muslim realizes the reality of his existence in this universe, and that he must be aware of the reality of preparation before meeting God, whether the talk is about the Great Hour "the Day of Judgment," or about the Minor Hour "the death of the Muslim himself," In the face of this reality, there must be work that saves from God’s punishment, real work, not just work. Indeed, productive and serious work - in these difficult days - focuses on changing the corrupt reality with all its components, not a part here or a part there. It is not enough for a Muslim to appoint himself as a preacher or teacher in a mosque, and it does not change the reality for a group of people to memorize the Qur’an, and it is not useful for some to focus only on writing books, and it is not enough for some to resort only to supplication, even if all of these are good deeds, but they are not a way leading to the goal and objective, to changing society, to changing the abode from an abode of disbelief to an abode of Islam; through the establishment of the Islamic state that applies its laws. In the context of this talk, we talk about the Day of Judgment, and about the Day of Reckoning, so what is the value of knowing the Day of Reckoning and talking about it without fear, work, or commitment?!
O God, hasten us with a righteous caliphate on the path of Prophethood, in which the Muslims gather together, and remove from them what they are in of tribulation. O God, illuminate the earth with the light of Your generous face. O God, Amen, Amen.
Our dear loved ones, and until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we leave you in God’s care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
