Righteousness, Kinship, and Manners

We greet you all, dear listeners, and begin with the best greeting: Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

It was mentioned by Muslim in his Sahih (may God have mercy on him)

It was narrated by Zuhair bin Harb, who said: Jarir narrated to us from Suhail, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "When God loves a servant, He calls Gabriel and says: 'I love so-and-so, so love him.' So Gabriel loves him. Then he announces in the heavens, saying: 'God loves so-and-so, so love him.' So the inhabitants of the heavens love him. Then acceptance is placed for him on earth. And when He hates a servant, He calls Gabriel and says: 'I hate so-and-so, so hate him.' So Gabriel hates him. Then he announces to the inhabitants of the heavens: 'God hates so-and-so, so hate him.' So they hate him. Then hatred is placed for him on earth."

The scholars said: God Almighty's love for His servant is His will for good for him, His guidance, His blessings upon him, and His mercy. And His hatred is His will to punish him or for his misery, and so on. And the love of Gabriel and the angels may have two meanings: one of them is their seeking forgiveness for him, their praise of him, and their supplication. The second is that their love is in its apparent form known from the creatures, which is the inclination of the heart towards him and its longing to meet him. And the reason for their love for him is that he is obedient to God Almighty, beloved by Him.

And the meaning of (acceptance is placed for him on earth) is love in the hearts of people, and their satisfaction with him, so hearts incline towards him, and they are pleased with him. And it has come in a narration (love is placed for him)

"God loves so-and-so" in the present tense, indicating the continuation of that

Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, said: God's love for a servant is achieved through several things:

First: Reading the Quran with contemplation and understanding of its meanings and what is intended by it.

Second: Drawing closer to God through voluntary acts after the obligatory ones, for it leads to a degree after love.

Third: Constant remembrance of Him in all circumstances with the tongue and the heart, in action and in state. For one's share of love is according to one's share of remembrance.

Fourth: Preferring what He loves over what you love when desires overwhelm you.

Fifth: Observing His kindness, His benevolence, His gifts, and His apparent and hidden blessings, for they are a call to love Him.

Sixth: And it is one of the most amazing; the breaking of the heart completely before God Almighty.

Seventh: Being alone with Him at the time of the descent of God's mercy to converse with Him, recite His words, stand with the heart, and adhere to the etiquette of servitude, then conclude that with seeking forgiveness.

Eighth: Sitting with truthful lovers, and picking the best fruits of their words.

My beloved in God:-

There are many reasons in the Book of God and in the Sunnah of His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, that necessitate God's love for His servant, including: -

1. Piety: God Almighty said: - (But yes, whoever fulfills his covenant and fears God - then indeed, God loves the righteous) Surat Al-Imran

2. Trusting in God: God Almighty said: (So when you have decided, then rely upon Allah . Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]) Al-Imran

3. Patience in its three forms:

Patience in obeying God, patience in refraining from disobeying God, and patience in the face of painful events. God Almighty said: (And how many a prophet [fought and] with him fought large numbers of devout men. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah , nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast) Al-Imran

4. Justice: Justice with all people, young and old, rich and poor, Muslim and non-Muslim. God Almighty said: (And if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly) Al-Ma'idah.

5. Repentance: Perseverance in repentance and returning to God: - God Almighty said: (Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves) Al-Baqarah.

6. Following: Following the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and emulating his guidance and Sunnah in all aspects of life. God Almighty said: (Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah , then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.") Al-Imran

7. Voluntary acts: Drawing closer to God through voluntary acts after the obligatory ones. God Almighty said in the Qudsi Hadith - which was narrated by Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him:

(God Almighty said: Whoever harms a friend of Mine, I will declare war against him. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I love him... the Hadith) Narrated by Al-Bukhari.

My beloved in God:-

God's love for His servant has great effects and fruits, including:

1- Guidance: God's guidance for the servant in his limbs, so he does not do with them except what pleases God, and does not use them in what angers God.

2- God's response to his supplication: God Almighty said in the Qudsi Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah - may God be pleased with him: (...and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to seek refuge with Me, I would surely grant him it.) Narrated by Al-Bukhari.

3- Placing acceptance for him on earth: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: (When God loves a servant, He calls Gabriel and says: 'I love so-and-so, so love him.' So Gabriel loves him. Then he announces in the heavens, saying: 'God loves so-and-so, so love him.' So the inhabitants of the heavens love him. Then acceptance is placed for him on earth) Narrated by Muslim

O best nation brought forth for mankind:

God's love is a claim made by everyone, so how easy is the claim! And how precious is the meaning! So a person should not be deceived by the devil's deception and the soul's deceit. For love is a good tree whose root is firm and its branches are in the sky, and its fruits appear in the heart, tongue, and limbs.

The question is not the extent of our love for God - Blessed and Exalted is He - but the extent of God's love for us. Likewise, the meaning of God loving us - the Almighty - is that He forgives us. For whoever loves forgives and pardons, and that has been mentioned in many verses and hadiths. An example of that is (Your Lord has decreed upon Himself mercy) Surat Al-An'am

And if God loves a servant, He makes him compassionate and merciful to all His servants, kind to them, and severe to His enemies, as God said (Forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves) "Al-Fath", and He said about them (Humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers) "Al-Ma'idah".

A person, servants of God, does not know how he will be sealed at death, so he must always ask God for a good ending. A person dies on what he lived on and is resurrected on what he died on. And your Lord does not wrong anyone.

O God, grant us Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of those who bring us closer to Your love. O God, unite our hearts, rectify our relationships, honor us with Islam, and with the state of Islam, save us from darkness into light, and keep us away from immoralities, both apparent and hidden, bless us in our hearing, our sight, and our hearts, and accept our repentance, for You are the Oft-Returning, the Most Merciful, and make us grateful for Your blessings, praising You for them, accepting them, and completing them upon us.

Do you know who is bankrupt?

May Allah greet you, our dear listeners, listeners of the radio of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir. We meet you again with our program "With the Hadith," and the best way to start our episode is with the greeting of Islam, so peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

It is mentioned in Musnad Ahmad - Remainder of the Musnad of the Prolific Narrators - that the bankrupt of my nation is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with fasting, prayer, and charity, but he comes having insulted this person, slandered this person, and consumed the wealth of this person.

Narrated 'Abd al-Rahman from Zuhair from al-'Ala' from his father from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Do you know who is bankrupt?" They said: "The bankrupt among us, O Messenger of Allah, is the one who has no dirham or goods." He said: "Indeed, the bankrupt of my nation is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with fasting, prayer, and charity, but he comes having insulted this person, slandered this person, and consumed the wealth of this person. So he will sit, and this one will take from his good deeds, and that one will take from his good deeds, and if his good deeds are exhausted before he settles what is owed to him of sins, their sins will be taken and cast upon him, then he will be thrown into the Fire."

This hadith, like other important hadiths, must be understood and realized. Some people are bankrupt despite their prayers, fasting, and zakat, because they insulted this person, slandered this person, consumed the wealth of this person, shed the blood of this person, and beat this person.

His bankruptcy is that his good deeds, which are his capital, are taken and given to this one and used to pay off that one for the price of his slander, insult, and beating. After his good deeds are exhausted before he settles what is owed, their sins are taken and cast upon him, then he is thrown into the Fire.

When the Prophet, peace be upon him, asked his companions, "Do you know who is bankrupt?" "Do you know" means knowledge and awareness of the inner workings of things. "Do you know" means "Do you really know who is bankrupt?" This confirms the saying of our master Ali, may Allah honor his face: "Wealth and poverty are after the presentation to Allah." When they were asked this question, they answered based on their experiences: "The bankrupt among us is the one who has no dirham or goods." This is the bankrupt in the eyes of the companions of the Messenger of Allah. So he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No... HE SAID: "INDEED, THE BANKRUPT OF MY NATION IS THE ONE WHO COMES ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION WITH FASTING, PRAYER, AND CHARITY..."

This confirms the saying of our master Umar: "Whoever wishes may fast, and whoever wishes may pray, but it is righteousness," because prayer, fasting, Hajj, and zakat are acts of worship that a person may do with sincerity, or he may do them hypocritically, but the center of gravity is to adhere to the command of Allah.

We ask Allah to keep us steadfast on the truth, and make us of His righteous servants, and replace our bad deeds with good deeds, and not disgrace us on the Day of Presentation to Him, O Allah, Amen.

Our dear listeners, until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we entrust you to Allah, whose deposits are never lost. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

With the Hadith - The Hypocrites and Their Evil Deeds

The Hypocrites and Their Evil Deeds

We greet you all, dear friends, everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting: Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

It was narrated from Buraidah, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do not call a hypocrite 'Sayyid' (master), for if he is a master, then you have angered your Lord, the Almighty and Sublime." Narrated by Abu Dawood with a Sahih (authentic) chain of narration.

Dear listeners,

Indeed, the best of speech is the word of God Almighty, and the best guidance is the guidance of His Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah, peace and blessings be upon him. Now then,

This noble Hadith guides us on how to deal with the hypocrites we know. The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the only one who knew all the hypocrites by their names, but we can recognize some of them by their characteristics, such as those mentioned in the Quran who perform their obligatory duties lazily and grudgingly, and those who plot against Islam and Muslims, encourage strife, spread corruption on earth, and love to spread immorality by calling for it, protecting it, and nurturing it, and those who tell lies about Islam and Muslims... and others who are characterized by hypocrisy.

Therefore, we must understand what the Sharia (Islamic law) has deemed good and what it has deemed bad, so that we can distinguish the hypocrite from the sincere, and take appropriate action towards them. We should not trust those who do what contradicts the Sharia while pretending to do what they do out of concern for Islam and Muslims. We should not follow them or support them, or even less than that, by describing them as "Sayyid," otherwise God Almighty will be angry with us.

We Muslims must be the most keen people on Islam and Muslims, and not allow any hypocrite an entry point into our religion and our families, as they are among the most dangerous things we may face these days due to their abundance and the multiplicity of their faces. We must use the Sharia scale to measure the actions of those who claim to be Muslims, for Islam protects us from such evildoers.

We ask God to protect our nation from such criminals, and to guide us to the straight path and the correct scale by which we measure people's behavior, so that we stay away from those whom God does not love. Amen.

Dear friends, until we meet you with another prophetic Hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
