With the Hadith
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) Taking a Ring
We greet you all, dear friends, everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting, so peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
It is mentioned in Fath al-Bari, Explanation of Sahih al-Bukhari by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, with modifications, in "Chapter on what is mentioned regarding handing over and scholars writing knowledge to countries."
Muhammad bin Muqatil Abu al-Hasan al-Marwazi narrated to us, Abdullah told us, he said: Shu'bah told us from Qatadah from Anas bin Malik, he said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wrote a letter, or wanted to write, and it was said to him: They do not read a letter unless it is sealed, so he took a ring of silver, and its engraving was Muhammad, the Messenger of God, as if I can see its whiteness in his hand. So I said to Qatadah: Who said its engraving was Muhammad, the Messenger of God? He said: Anas.
Dear listeners:
What is striking about the hadith is that our honorable Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, only wrote a letter in his capacity as head of state, wanting to address the heads of state at that time, so this letter had to bear the signature and seal of the one in charge in this state, for he is the one who speaks on behalf of the people, he is the one who looks after their interests, and he is the one who establishes relations with other countries based on these interests.
O Muslims:
Who speaks in your name today? And who can establish relations with the countries of today based on your interests? Who can write a letter addressing the countries of disbelief, saying, "Submit and you will be safe"? Who is the one who can sign his words and address in your name? No one, of course, because the only one authorized to do so is not present, and because the one authorized to do so is your Caliph, that Caliph who was overthrown by the countries of disbelief and brought down from his heights, so you became orphans at their tables, refugees at the gates of their palaces, beggars for the crumbs of their civilization, they command you and you obey, and they kill you and you remain silent. So, work, work - O Muslims - with the sincere workers to restore the Caliph who speaks in your name and triumphs for you.
O God, hasten for us a righteous caliphate on the path of Prophethood that gathers the scattered Muslims, and lifts from them what they are in of affliction. O God, illuminate the earth with the light of Your noble face. O God, Amen, Amen.
Dear friends, and until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
