With the Noble Prophetic Hadith

O people, come to Abu Dharr... the sincere, compassionate brother!!

We greet you all, dear listeners, everywhere. We meet you in a new episode of your program "With the Noble Prophetic Hadith" and begin with the best greeting and the purest peace. Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you. Thereafter:

Dear listeners:

First of all, we present to you a brief introduction to this venerable companion: We mention his name, title, description, birth, and the story of his conversion to Islam, then we mention to you some of his advice, may God be pleased with him: He is Abu Dharr Jundub bin Junada al-Ghifari. May God be pleased with him, he was tall, with a white head and beard, brown in color, and thin. May God be pleased with him, he was born in the Ghifar tribe between Mecca and Medina, and this tribe was famous for robbery, blocking the road to travelers and merchants, and taking their money by force. May God be pleased with him, he was a courageous man who blocked the road alone, and raided people in the darkness of the morning on the back of his horse or on foot like a predator, so he would knock on the neighborhood and take what he took.

Despite this, Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, was one of those who were devoted, meaning those who worshipped and devoted themselves. He used to say: There is no god but God, and he does not worship idols. The light of faith had begun to spread to the heart of Abu Dharr and his tribe: Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, said: Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, said: I was a man from Ghifar, and we heard that a man had come out in Mecca claiming to be a prophet, so I said to my brother: Go to this man, talk to him, and bring me his news. So he went and met him, then returned, and I said: What do you have? He said: By God, I have seen a man who enjoins good and forbids evil. I said to him: You have not satisfied me with the news. So I took a bag and a stick, then I came to Mecca and began not to know him, and I hated to ask about him, and I drank from the water of Zamzam and was in the mosque. He said: Ali, may God be pleased with him, passed by me and said: It seems that the man is a stranger? He said: I said: Yes. He said: Go to the house. He said: So I went with him, neither asking me about anything nor informing him, and when I woke up, I went to the mosque to ask about him, and no one told me anything about him. He said: Ali passed by me and said: Isn't it time for the man to know his home yet? He said: I said: No. He said: Go with me. He said: He said: What is your business? And what brought you to this town? He said: I said to him: If you conceal it from me, I will tell you. He said: I will do that. He said: I said to him: We heard that a man has come out here claiming to be a prophet, so I sent my brother to talk to him, but he returned and did not satisfy me with the news, so I wanted to meet him. He said to him: You have been guided. This is my face to him, so follow me, enter where I enter, for if I see someone I fear for you, I will stand by the wall as if I am fixing my shoe, and you go on. So he went and I went with him until he entered and I entered with him upon the Prophet, and I said to him: Offer me Islam. So he offered it and I embraced Islam in my place, so he said to me: "O Abu Dharr, conceal this matter, and return to your country, and when you hear of our appearance, then come."

So I said: By the One who sent you with the truth, I will shout it out among them. So he came to the mosque and the Quraysh were in it, and he said: O people of Quraysh, I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. They said: Stand up to this convert. So they stood up and I was beaten to death, but Al-Abbas caught up with me and pinned me down, then turned to them and said: Woe to you! Are you killing a man from Ghifar, and your trade and passage are on Ghifar. So they let go of me, and when I woke up the next day, I returned and said the same thing I said yesterday, so they said: Stand up to this convert. So I was treated as I was treated yesterday, and Al-Abbas caught up with me and pinned me down, and said the same thing he said yesterday. Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, was one of the great companions, an early convert to Islam. It is said that he converted to Islam after four, so he was the fifth, and after he converted to Islam, the Prophet made him a brother with Al-Mundhir bin Amr, one of the Bani Sa'ida, and he was truthful in speech: Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, said: The Messenger of God said to me: "The dusty ground does not carry, nor does the green sky shade anyone with a more truthful and faithful tongue than Abu Dharr, who is like Jesus, the son of Mary." He said: Umar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, stood up and said: O Prophet of God, should we recognize that for him? He said: "Yes, recognize it for him."

Since he converted to Islam, may God be pleased with him, he became one of the callers to God, so he called his father, mother, family, and tribe, and when Abu Dharr, may God be pleased with him, converted to Islam, he said: The Prophet and Abu Bakr set out and I set out with them until Abu Bakr opened a door, and he began to seize for us from the raisins of Taif, he said: That was the first food I ate there, and I stayed as long as I stayed, and the Messenger of God said: "I have been directed to a land with palm trees and I think it is Yathrib, so will you convey from me to your people; perhaps God will benefit them through you and reward you for them?" He said: So I set out until I came to my brother Anis, he said: So he said to me: What did you do? He said: I said: I have embraced Islam and believed. He said: I have no desire against your religion, (meaning I do not hate your religion) for I have embraced Islam and believed. Then we came to our mother and she said: I have no desire against your religion, for I have embraced Islam and believed. So we set out until we came to our people, Ghifar. He said: Some of them converted to Islam before the Messenger of God arrived in Medina, and Khufaf bin Ima' bin Rahdah al-Ghifari, their leader on that day, led them in prayer, and the rest of them said: When the Messenger of God arrives, we will convert to Islam. He said: So the Messenger of God arrived and the rest of them converted to Islam. He said: And the tribe of "Aslam" came and said: O Messenger of God, we are brothers, we embrace Islam on what they have embraced Islam. So the Messenger of God said: "May God forgive Ghifar, and may God grant peace to Aslam." Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, may God be pleased with him, died in al-Rabadhah in the year 32 AH / 652 AD alone, as the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had told.

Dear listeners:

After this brief presentation and short overview of the life of the venerable companion Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, may God be pleased with him, here are some of his advice that he learned from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace: Abu Nu'aym said in his book "Hilyat al-Awliya'": Uthman bin Muhammad al-Uthmani told us, Abu Bakr al-Ahwazi told us, al-Hasan bin Uthman told us, Muhammad bin Idris told us, Muhammad bin Rouh told us, Imran bin Umar told us, from Sufyan al-Thawri, who said: Abu Dharr al-Ghifari stood by the Kaaba and said: O people, I am Jundub al-Ghifari, come to the sincere, compassionate brother. So the people surrounded him, and he said: Do you see if one of you wants to travel, does he not take from the provisions what will make him fit and reach him? They said: Yes, he said: The journey of the path of resurrection is farther than you want, so take from it what will make you fit, they said: And what will make us fit? He said: "Perform Hajj for the great matters, fast a day when its heat is severe for the length of the resurrection, pray two rak'ahs in the darkness of the night for the loneliness of the graves, a good word you say or an evil word you remain silent about for the standing of a great day, give charity with your money so that you may be saved from its hardship, make the world two sessions: a session in seeking the hereafter, and a session in seeking what is lawful, and the third harms you and does not benefit you, do not want it. Make the money two dirhams: a dirham you spend on your family from what is lawful, and a dirham you present to your hereafter, and the third harms you and does not benefit you, do not want it. Then he called out in a loud voice: O people, you have been killed by greed that you will never achieve."

Dear listeners: We thank you for your kind listening. Our appointment with you is in the next episode, God willing. Until then, and until we meet you always, we leave you in God's care, protection, and security. Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

Do you know who is bankrupt?

May Allah greet you, our dear listeners, listeners of the radio of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir. We meet you again with our program "With the Hadith," and the best way to start our episode is with the greeting of Islam, so peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

It is mentioned in Musnad Ahmad - Remainder of the Musnad of the Prolific Narrators - that the bankrupt of my nation is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with fasting, prayer, and charity, but he comes having insulted this person, slandered this person, and consumed the wealth of this person.

Narrated 'Abd al-Rahman from Zuhair from al-'Ala' from his father from Abu Hurairah from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Do you know who is bankrupt?" They said: "The bankrupt among us, O Messenger of Allah, is the one who has no dirham or goods." He said: "Indeed, the bankrupt of my nation is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with fasting, prayer, and charity, but he comes having insulted this person, slandered this person, and consumed the wealth of this person. So he will sit, and this one will take from his good deeds, and that one will take from his good deeds, and if his good deeds are exhausted before he settles what is owed to him of sins, their sins will be taken and cast upon him, then he will be thrown into the Fire."

This hadith, like other important hadiths, must be understood and realized. Some people are bankrupt despite their prayers, fasting, and zakat, because they insulted this person, slandered this person, consumed the wealth of this person, shed the blood of this person, and beat this person.

His bankruptcy is that his good deeds, which are his capital, are taken and given to this one and used to pay off that one for the price of his slander, insult, and beating. After his good deeds are exhausted before he settles what is owed, their sins are taken and cast upon him, then he is thrown into the Fire.

When the Prophet, peace be upon him, asked his companions, "Do you know who is bankrupt?" "Do you know" means knowledge and awareness of the inner workings of things. "Do you know" means "Do you really know who is bankrupt?" This confirms the saying of our master Ali, may Allah honor his face: "Wealth and poverty are after the presentation to Allah." When they were asked this question, they answered based on their experiences: "The bankrupt among us is the one who has no dirham or goods." This is the bankrupt in the eyes of the companions of the Messenger of Allah. So he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: No... HE SAID: "INDEED, THE BANKRUPT OF MY NATION IS THE ONE WHO COMES ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION WITH FASTING, PRAYER, AND CHARITY..."

This confirms the saying of our master Umar: "Whoever wishes may fast, and whoever wishes may pray, but it is righteousness," because prayer, fasting, Hajj, and zakat are acts of worship that a person may do with sincerity, or he may do them hypocritically, but the center of gravity is to adhere to the command of Allah.

We ask Allah to keep us steadfast on the truth, and make us of His righteous servants, and replace our bad deeds with good deeds, and not disgrace us on the Day of Presentation to Him, O Allah, Amen.

Our dear listeners, until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we entrust you to Allah, whose deposits are never lost. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

With the Hadith

The Hypocrites and Their Evil Deeds

We greet you all, dear friends, everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting: Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

It was narrated from Buraidah, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do not call a hypocrite 'Sayyid' (master), for if he is a master, then you have angered your Lord, the Almighty and Sublime." Narrated by Abu Dawood with a Sahih (authentic) chain of narration.

Dear listeners,

Indeed, the best of speech is the word of God Almighty, and the best guidance is the guidance of His Prophet Muhammad bin Abdullah, peace and blessings be upon him. Now then,

This noble Hadith guides us on how to deal with the hypocrites we know. The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the only one who knew all the hypocrites by their names, but we can recognize some of them by their characteristics, such as those mentioned in the Quran who perform their obligatory duties lazily and grudgingly, and those who plot against Islam and Muslims, encourage strife, spread corruption on earth, and love to spread immorality by calling for it, protecting it, and nurturing it, and those who tell lies about Islam and Muslims... and others who are characterized by hypocrisy.

Therefore, we must understand what the Sharia (Islamic law) has deemed good and what it has deemed bad, so that we can distinguish the hypocrite from the sincere, and take appropriate action towards them. We should not trust those who do what contradicts the Sharia while pretending to do what they do out of concern for Islam and Muslims. We should not follow them or support them, or even less than that, by describing them as "Sayyid," otherwise God Almighty will be angry with us.

We Muslims must be the most keen people on Islam and Muslims, and not allow any hypocrite an entry point into our religion and our families, as they are among the most dangerous things we may face these days due to their abundance and the multiplicity of their faces. We must use the Sharia scale to measure the actions of those who claim to be Muslims, for Islam protects us from such evildoers.

We ask God to protect our nation from such criminals, and to guide us to the straight path and the correct scale by which we measure people's behavior, so that we stay away from those whom God does not love. Amen.

Dear friends, until we meet you with another prophetic Hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
