With the Hadith
Chapter: If they repent, perform prayer, and pay zakat, then leave their way
We greet you all, dear listeners everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting, may the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
It is mentioned in Sahih Imam Muslim in Al-Nawawi's commentary "with modifications" in the chapter "If they repent, perform prayer, and pay zakat, then leave their way."
Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Musnadi narrated to us, saying: Abu Rouh Al-Harami bin Amara narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us from Waqid bin Muhammad, saying: I heard my father narrating from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and they establish prayer and pay zakat. If they do that, they have protected their blood and wealth from me, except with the right of Islam, and their reckoning is with God."
Dear listeners:
Thus, with all clarity, our noble Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - declared it: I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God... No agreement, no shared coexistence... No democracy, no secularism, no nationalism, no pan-Arabism, no civil state, no theocratic state, not "I am the other" nor "the other is me."
Yes, we are – by God – tired of disbelief. We are tired of seeing disbelief wearing suits and ties, walking among us in every detail of our lives: in our homes, in our markets, in our streets, in our customs and traditions, in our occasions, in our clothing, in our food and drink, in our sitting, in our going and coming, in our speech and silence, in our eyes and thoughts, in our gatherings, and even in our mosques. They walk in all our details, emerging from behind every meeting or conspiracy they hold. Yes, we are tired of these disbelieving evildoers appearing to us in their ornate attire, speaking our language, the language of the Quran, while fighting it. We are tired of seeing them speaking from within what they call "parliaments," while they plot against the nation, not for it. We are – by God – tired of these people standing as highway robbers on the Sykes-Picot borders, emerging from behind a barrier here or there, as if the land has been deeded to them, allowing and forbidding.
And today we ask: Who declares it openly, in broad daylight: I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God? Or have the concepts and values changed, so that the West, with its disbelief and wickedness, has become the alternative?
O Muslims:
After the Muslim used to take pride in his religion, with honor, glory, sovereignty, victory, elevation, majesty, and goodness... today – due to the rulers – he hides, ashamed of his religion. God suffices us, and He is the best disposer of affairs. And after the message was a duty to convey to the entire world, the Muslim now searches for a haven where he can be safe in his religion. So when will you come, O Caliph of the Muslims, to address the entire world: Submit and be safe. We ask God, the Great, Lord of the Great Throne, that this day be soon.
O God, hasten us with a caliphate that gathers the scattered Muslims, and removes from them what they are in of affliction. O God, illuminate the earth with the light of Your noble face. O God, Amen, Amen.
Dear listeners, until we meet you with another Prophetic Hadith, we leave you in God's care, and may the peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
