"Chapter on the Obligation of Obeying Leaders in Matters Other Than Disobedience and the Prohibition of Obeying Them in Disobedience"
We greet you all, dear listeners everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting: Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim in Al-Nawawi's commentary "with modifications" in "Chapter on the Obligation of Obeying Leaders in Matters Other Than Disobedience and the Prohibition of Obeying Them in Disobedience"
Yahya bin Yahya narrated to us, Al-Mughira bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hizami informed us, from Abi Al-Zinad, from Al-Araj, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Whoever obeys me has obeyed God, and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed God. Whoever obeys the leader has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys the leader has disobeyed me."
His saying: Whoever obeys me has obeyed God, and whoever obeys my leader has obeyed me, and he said the same in disobedience; because God Almighty commanded obedience to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded obedience to the leader, so obedience is intertwined.
Dear listeners:
The greatness of this religion lies in its creed and rulings, which, if applied in real life, will make those who apply them happy and reassured, and they will become a person who feels their humanity and rises with it on the ladder of values to reach contentment. Perhaps our Islamic history bears witness to this, as Muslims lived in the shade of its rulings, enjoyed its shade, and reaped its fruits, so tranquility and peace of mind were the title of their existence in this life, so they innovated in it in every way, and left us treasures of jurisprudence, thought, language, sciences, and many, many more...
O Muslims: That would not have happened without the existence of a matter of utmost importance, which is obedience. Yes, it is obedience, O Muslims, which Muslims lack these days, as it is the secret of their victory, first over themselves and second over their enemy. In the Hadith, there is a beautiful connection between obedience to God and obedience to the Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - and between obedience to those in authority, for obedience to those in authority is obedience to God and the Messenger, and disobedience to those in authority is disobedience to God and the Messenger, but where are those in authority today whom it is obligatory to obey? There is no doubt that they do not exist, for everyone who rules the Muslims today cannot be considered one of those in authority, because they are a gang or rather thugs who have seized power by force and with the support of their infidel masters in the absence of the nation, and they have ruled it with other than what God has revealed, they have ruled it with the laws of the English, French and Americans, and there is no better evidence of what we say than what we have seen and are seeing these days of the killing of their nation by these rulers in the countries of the revolutions. This means that the nation today has a great duty and obligation, which is to appoint a leader who rules it according to what God has revealed. For God Almighty addresses the Muslims in His saying: "And obey God and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you." This obligation - the obligation of obedience - remains an obligation and does not lag behind, is canceled, or suspended due to the absence of a leader. This means that Muslims have a duty to work to find the leader in whose presence the obligation of obedience is fulfilled. And that without which the obligation cannot be fulfilled is obligatory. So rise up, O Muslims... O you who have not yet worked to find this ruler, rise up to work with the sincere and aware workers to create this great obligation, we obey God and His Messenger - may God bless him and grant him peace - by creating him and by obeying him. O God, hasten that for us and make us among those who listen to the word and follow the best of it. Amen.
Dear listeners, until we meet you with another prophetic Hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
