With the Hadith
Allah's Right on Servants
We greet you all, dear friends everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting, so peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Narrated Mahmud bin Ghailan: Abu Ahmad narrated to us: Sufyan narrated to us, from Abi Ishaq, from Amr bin Maimun, from Mu'adh bin Jabal, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do you know what is the right of Allah upon the servants?" I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: "It is that they should worship Him and not associate anything with Him." He said: "Do you know what their right upon Him is if they do that?" I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: "That He should not punish them." Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2690
This noble Hadith tells us about two great rights: the first is the right of Allah on the servants, and the second is the right of the servants on Allah. In this Hadith, there is a detailed explanation of the rights, with the first right being clear and evident to all, and Allah Almighty has informed us about it through the words of our Prophet. He has informed us that Allah has linked the two rights together. The first is that we worship Allah Almighty and do not associate anyone with Allah in this right of faith and worship. This lies in the actual implementation of the Sharia rulings as ordered and obligated upon us, and the firm belief in Allah Almighty that He is the Creator, the Originator, and there is no deity worthy of worship except Him. This is the first part of the condition or contract that Allah Almighty has placed between us and Him.
As for the other part of the condition, it is that Allah Almighty has promised not to punish us or enter us into Hellfire, and this is a right that Allah Almighty has placed upon Himself. It is noted that these two conditions are inseparable and are a mercy from Allah Almighty to His servants. We must always remember these two conditions, that the first is to do it as Allah Almighty loves, and that the inevitable result is entering Paradise and avoiding punishment.
We ask Allah to make us among those who adhere to the command of Allah Almighty and do not associate anyone with Him, and to be among those who deserve to be far from punishment. O Allah, Amen.
O Allah, hasten us with a righteous caliphate on the path of Prophethood, in which the disunity of the Muslims is gathered, and what they are in of affliction is lifted from them. O Allah, illuminate the earth with the light of Your noble face. O Allah, Amen, Amen.
Dear loved ones, until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we leave you in the care of Allah, and peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
