With the Hadith
Making the Dead Hear and Reproaching Them
We greet you all, dear friends, everywhere, in a new episode of your program "With the Hadith," and we begin with the best greeting, so peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
It is mentioned in Fath al-Bari, Explanation of Sahih al-Bukhari by Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani - with modifications - in the chapter of people's praise of the dead:
Abdullah bin Muhammad narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from Hisham bin Urwa from his father from Aisha, may God be pleased with her, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, only said: "They now know that what I used to tell them was true," and God Almighty said: (Indeed, you cannot make the dead hear)."
Dear listeners:
This statement was in reference to the slain who were thrown into the well of Badr, where our noble Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, stood after three days, rebuking and reproaching them, until Omar said to him: "Are you addressing people who have decayed?" He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, you do not hear what I am saying better than they do, but they cannot respond." Aisha interpreted this statement as him, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "They now know that what I used to tell them was true."
O Muslims:
Despite the harshness of the scene, and despite the tribulations the nation is suffering these days, we will, God willing, stand over the corpses of everyone who has committed crimes against this nation, and we will address them as the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, addressed the infidels of Quraish, and we will say to them: "We have found what God promised us to be true, so have you found what God promised you to be true?" And we will reproach them. But this will not be through the states of harm and the idol rulers who are agents controlling our Islamic world, it will only be through a leader like the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, speaking on behalf of this nation, and through a state fighting in the name of the nation, and through a nation pledging allegiance to this leader, protecting themselves with him and fighting behind him.
O God, hasten for us a righteous caliphate on the path of prophethood to gather the scattered Muslims, and relieve them of the affliction they are in. O God, illuminate the earth with the light of Your noble face. O God, Amen, Amen.
Our dear friends, until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
