With the Hadith
Whoever has the Hereafter as his concern
We greet you all, dear listeners, everywhere in a new episode of your program with the Hadith, and we begin with the best greeting: Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
Narrated Anas bin Malik, who said:
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever has the Hereafter as his concern, God will put his wealth in his heart, bring together his affairs, and the world will come to him against its will. And whoever has the world as his concern, God will put his poverty before his eyes, scatter his affairs, and he will not get from the world except what has been decreed for him."
It came in Tuhfat Al-Ahwadhi in explaining Jami` at-Tirmidhi
His saying (his concern) means his intention and purpose. And in Al-Mishkat: Whoever's intention is to seek the Hereafter.
(God will put his wealth in his heart) means He makes him content with sufficiency so that he does not tire himself in seeking more.
(and bring together his affairs) means his scattered matters by making him of one mind by preparing its means from where he does not perceive it.
(and the world will come to him) means what has been decreed and apportioned to him from it.
(against its will) means humiliated, insignificant, following him, not needing much effort to seek it, but it comes to him easily and gently despite itself and the nose of its owners.
(And whoever has the world as his concern)
And in Al-Mishkat: And whoever's intention is to seek the world.
(God will put his poverty before his eyes) means the kind of need for creation like a decisive matter placed before his eyes.
(and scatter his affairs) means his gathered matters.
(and he will not get from the world except what has been decreed for him) means and he is against his will, so he will not get what he seeks of increase despite himself and the nose of his companions.
Dear listeners:
Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, said: "If the servant wakes up and goes to sleep and his only concern is God alone, God Almighty will bear all his needs, bear all that concerns him, and empty his heart for His love, his tongue for His remembrance, and his limbs for His obedience. And if he wakes up and goes to sleep and the world is his concern, God will burden him with its worries, sorrows, and troubles, and leave him to himself .....".
Dear listeners:
People have been made to forget the love of the world and preoccupation with it from obeying God Almighty and worshiping Him as He should be worshiped. So the noble verses and hadiths came and followed, including this noble hadith that is in our hands today, to remind us of what we have forgotten and to generate a driving force that increases our heart's tranquility and directs us to abandon the world and asceticism in it seeking what is with God of satisfaction in this world and bliss in the Hereafter.
And we conclude with His saying: ﴿Beautified for people is the love of that which they desire - of women and sons, heaped-up sums of gold and silver, fine branded horses, and cattle and tilled land. That is the enjoyment of worldly life, but Allah has with Him the best return.﴾ Asking the Almighty to not make this world our greatest concern, nor the extent of our knowledge.
Dear listeners, until we meet you with another Prophetic hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
