With the Hadith - O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship, I will fill your chest with wealth
We greet you all, dear listeners, everywhere in a new episode of your program With the Hadith, and we begin with the best greeting, so peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you,
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, who said: "God Almighty says: O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship, I will fill your chest with wealth and relieve your poverty, and if you do not, I will fill your hands with work and not relieve your poverty."
Tuhfat Al-Ahwadhi bi Sharh Jami' Al-Tirmidhi
His saying: (God says, O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship)
That is, free yourself from your important matters for My obedience.
(I will fill your chest) That is, your heart.
(With wealth) Wealth is only the wealth of the heart.
(And relieve your poverty) That is, free yourself from your important matters for My worship, I will take care of your important matters and make you independent of My creation, and if you do not, I will fill your hands with work and not relieve your poverty, meaning if you do not devote yourself to that and busy yourself with other than Me, I will not relieve your poverty because creation is poor in absolute terms, so you will increase poverty upon your poverty.
Dear listeners:
How strange it is for those who do not devote themselves to the worship of God Almighty under the pretext of seeking livelihood or seeking a greater share of the world! And worship here, of course, does not only mean the five pillars of Islam, and it is sufficient to explain this by His saying: (Say, "Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds.")
Do those who give priority to seeking livelihood over devoting themselves to the worship of God not know that they are transgressing against God and His command by doing this, God forbid! Are wealth and poverty not from the command of God, the All-Knowing, the Almighty? Is sustenance not guaranteed by God, the Generous Provider! So how can we accept for ourselves to be busy with what is the command of God Almighty, and leave what He Almighty has asked us to be busy with, which is to devote ourselves to His worship, and at the forefront of that is devoting ourselves to establishing the religion of God Almighty and making it prevail over all religions!
Dear listeners, until we meet you with another prophetic hadith, we leave you in God's care, and peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
