In a prominent development, the Syrian Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management announced the formation of a "joint field operations room" in cooperation with active Syrian organizations, with the aim of coordinating logistical and field support for firefighting operations, which included securing water tankers, organizing trained volunteer teams, and using heavy machinery to open fire lines. The Kurdish Autonomous Administration, on Sunday, denied the news circulating recently about Turkey releasing quantities of water into the Euphrates River. The Dams Administration in northern and eastern Syria said that the river's water level is still witnessing a daily decrease, amid an unprecedented water crisis that threatens to put the dams out of service. The director of dams in northern and eastern Syria pointed out that “the rumors circulating about a Turkish-Iraqi agreement to release water through the Euphrates River contributed to fueling public opinion against the dams administration, as if there were attempts to hide the fact that the water level had risen,” as he put it. He said: “We confirm that this increase does not exist at all, and even if any new quantities arrive, it will take several months to restore natural storage levels and save the current agricultural season.” He explained, “The Dams Administration in the Autonomous Administration will immediately and publicly announce any change in the status of the Euphrates River’s water level.”

The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) has allocated $130 million to support both the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) militias and the so-called "Free Syrian Army" within the 2026 budget project, within the framework of the "Partners Training and Equipment Fund" program to combat the "Islamic State" organization.
