Three lawyers from the Aleppo Bar Association branch filed a lawsuit before the Public Prosecution against the chanter "Ahmed Haboush" after his participation in an official event organized by the Aleppo Governorate Council entitled "For Your Eyes, Aleppo," during which he was considered to have insulted religious sanctities and wounded the feelings of millions of Syrians by applying a Prophetic song to the person of the President of the Syrian Republic, "Ahmed al-Share'." According to the text of the claim, the chanter, during the event, which witnessed a live broadcast and a large public presence, performed the song "Land and Sky Love You," which is one of the songs preserved in the Islamic religious conscience and praises the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, but he deliberately directed its words to President al-Share', in a scene that brought back to mind the manifestations of personal glorification associated with the era of the fallen regime, against which the Syrians revolted and overthrew.
The Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, announced this morning the extinguishing of the forest fire that broke out in the forests of the Mashhad al-Ali area in the countryside of the city of Masyaf, west of Hama Governorate, confirming full control of the fire after intensive field efforts.
The Director of Relations at the Land and Sea Ports Authority in Syria, "Mazen Alloush," announced the start of implementing the decision to allow Syrians holding Turkish citizenship and their family members to enter through border crossings. In a post on social media on Tuesday, "Alloush" explained that the authority will assess the situation during the first hours of implementation, in preparation for providing any additional notes or instructions later. "Alloush" called on Syrians wishing to enter to follow the official updates issued by the authority, pointing out that inquiries can be sent via comments to be answered directly.
The Internal Security Forces Command in Idlib Governorate announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of retired Colonel Ziad Kokash, one of the most prominent involved in war crimes and serious violations against Syrians since the start of the revolution in 2011. According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the so-called "Ziad Kokash" worked during the early years of the revolution to suppress peaceful demonstrations, through his leadership of several security formations, before moving to lead major military checkpoints at the entrances to Hama Governorate, which at that time witnessed widespread violations against civilians, including arbitrary arrests, field liquidation, and abuse of protesters.
The "QSD" militia denied the news circulating about its readiness to launch a campaign against the remnants of "ISIS" in the Syrian desert, claiming that its recent movements are "within the usual framework," and stressing its "constant readiness" to participate in any national or international effort to combat the organization, and that any operation will be announced through official platforms. However, informed sources confirmed that these claims are false, and that the international coalition has not requested any participation from "QSD" in the expected operations against "ISIS" in the desert, but on the contrary, the militia submitted an official request to participate, and its request was rejected.
US President Donald Trump signed an executive order ending the sanctions program imposed on Syria, in a move aimed at supporting the country's stability and its path towards peace, according to an official statement issued by the White House. The decision stipulated the removal of sanctions imposed on Syria, while maintaining those directed against Bashar al-Assad and his partners, human rights violators, drug smugglers, and individuals linked to activities related to chemical weapons, "ISIS" or its branches, and Iranian agents. The order directed the US Secretary of State to assess the possibility of suspending the sanctions partially or completely, if certain criteria are met, within the provisions of the "Caesar Act." The order also allowed for easing restrictions on the export of certain goods to Syria, in addition to lifting some restrictions imposed on foreign aid. The order also included directives to the Secretary of State to review the designation of "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" as a terrorist organization, in addition to reviewing the designations of the organization and its former leader Ahmed al-Share' as specially designated global terrorists. The decision also called for reviewing Syria's designation as a state sponsor of terrorism, in addition to calling on the Secretary of State to study options for easing sanctions within the United Nations, in a way that serves Syria's stability. The White House stressed that this decision reflects President Trump's commitment to supporting a united and stable Syria living in peace internally and with its neighbors, without harming American interests. The statement indicated that the US administration will continue to monitor progress made in key files, such as normalizing relations with Tel Aviv, combating terrorism, deporting what it described as Palestinian terrorists, and preventing the return of "ISIS," in addition to managing detention centers for its members in northeastern Syria.
Al Jazeera reported, quoting sources in the Quneitra Governorate in southern Syria, that a Jewish force advanced to the outskirts of the village of Ruwayhinah in the governorate's countryside. Syrian President Ahmed al-Share' had previously stated that the authorities of the new Syrian administration are working to stop the continued attacks by Jews on safe areas in the Quneitra Governorate in the southwest of the country. Al-Share' affirmed working to stop Jewish attacks through indirect negotiations through international mediators. Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel expressed her reservations about some of the measures taken by the Ministry of Interior in the government of Chancellor Friedrich Merz, especially with regard to border control measures and the suspension of family reunification for people with limited protection. In a meeting inside a Syrian restaurant, the former Chancellor confirmed, in her first comment on the current asylum policies, that anyone seeking asylum on the German border must be granted the right to enter into legal proceedings. Merkel warned against being drawn behind the agendas of right-wing parties. These statements come at a time when the new federal government's decision to suspend family reunification for refugees with secondary protection, in addition to tightening border controls, is causing widespread political controversy within Germany.
