The director of the Internal Security Directorate in Idlib revealed, on Tuesday, details of an explosion that occurred north of the town of Al-Foua, last night. He explained that the explosion, which occurred inside an ammunition depot, contained mines and missiles left over from the war, pointing out that the explosion resulted in some minor injuries and cases of fainting, due to the severity of the explosion, without registering serious injuries.

A car exploded on Tuesday near the town of Killi in the northern Idlib countryside, in an accident whose causes have not been accurately known until now. Local sources stated that the nature of the explosion indicates the possibility of the car being subjected to an air strike, suggesting that the targeting was carried out by a drone. In contrast, varying accounts were reported from eyewitnesses, with some saying that the car was carrying ammunition and exploded on its own, while others indicated that the explosion was the result of a direct targeting. The explosion resulted in the death of one person and the injury of another, in an initial count.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the arrest of Brigadier General Riyad Al-Shehadeh, who held positions in the political security of the former regime. The ministry explained that the internal security in the Talkalakh area in the Homs countryside arrested Al-Shehadeh, who served as the head of the political security branch in Damascus. The ministry added that Al-Shehadeh is involved in committing war crimes against the Syrian people, which included the liquidation of hundreds of civilians, in addition to arbitrary arrests.

The Deputy Head of the Central Agency for Financial Control, Wasim Al-Mansour, revealed that the arrest of the former Minister of Education, Darem Tabaa, was based on a preliminary report prepared by the agency, after an investigative mission that included the work of the Ministry of Education during the period of the ousted regime. Al-Mansour explained that the investigations showed the existence of violations related to financial corruption and receiving bribes, in addition to exploiting the position.

On Monday evening, the Syrian Civil Defense teams evacuated the residents of the village of Al-Ghassania in the Ras al-Basit sub-district, north of Latakia, after an unprecedented expansion of the fires and the flames approaching residential areas. The teams announced that they are working to secure the residents in safer places, with the continuation of firefighting operations and preventing the advance of fire in the dense surrounding forests, while efforts continue to control the fire and prevent it from reaching the adjacent Al-Fornulq Reserve. The Civil Defense confirmed the registration of a new spread of fires in the Karen Koul and Al-Baraka areas in the Qastal Ma'af sub-district, which exacerbated the challenges facing the firefighting teams working in rugged terrain and dense forested areas. Firefighting teams from Turkey and Jordan are participating alongside the Syrian regiments in intensive field operations that include air sorties of planes and helicopters, with the aim of cooling and monitoring the spread of fires, and efforts are currently focused on preventing the fires from reaching the Al-Fornulq Reserve, which is one of the largest and most important forests in Syria.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights has monitored a series of ground incursions carried out by the Jewish entity forces inside the southern Syrian territories, including areas in the governorates of Quneitra, Rif Dimashq, and Daraa, during the period between June 9 and July 5, 2025. The number of these documented operations reached 22 incursions, all of which were carried out without any official announcement or prior warning, and the violations that accompanied those incursions included the killing of at least one civilian, the arbitrary detention of at least 13 civilians, in addition to storming schools and homes, demolishing more than 15 homes in some villages, and restricting the movement of civilians through temporary checkpoints.
