To Confront Trump's Ambiguity... A Nuclear Alliance Expected Between France and Britain
Al Jazeera Net, 07/11/2025 - French President Emmanuel Macron's recent visit to Britain was not merely an opportunity to overcome the effects of Brexit and restore bilateral relations, but revealed deeper transformations in the course of European-Atlantic relations, most notably efforts to form a European defense front capable of filling any void left by Washington in guaranteeing European national security.
While Macron affirmed before the British Parliament his country's aspiration to build a new partnership with London based on the principle of independence from American and Chinese hegemony, the warfields in Ukraine issued escalating warnings about the Russian danger, which reinforced the demands for elevating French-British cooperation to a new strategic level.
The nuclear file topped the agenda of Macron's meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, amid a French trend to strengthen a nuclear umbrella independent from American protection, and the two leaders announced an agreement on coordinating the movements of their countries' nuclear arsenals to confront any imminent threat to their vital interests.
Starmer confirmed following his talks with Macron that the two sides face common security challenges, and are preparing for coordinated nuclear intervention when necessary, while maintaining the independence of their arsenals.
For his part, British Defense Secretary John Healey stressed that this nuclear partnership "sends a clear message to adversaries" that Paris and London stand together in the face of any strategic threat.
Macron had previously expressed his country's readiness to deploy nuclear aircraft in Germany, in a move that reflected the erosion of European confidence in American guarantees, especially with the presence of about 100 American nuclear warheads in bases in Germany, which no longer represent an element of reassurance as in the past.

Khamenei: We are Able to Reach Important American Sites in the Region
Al Arabiya, 07/12/2025 - In words that are not corroborated by Iranian actions against America's support for the entity of the Jews in its recent war against Iran, but rather by America's direct participation in the military operation, the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, said on the X platform, Saturday, that his country has the ability to reach important American sites in the region whenever it wants.
He considered that the attack that took place on the Al Udeid American base and caused damage to it is not a small incident, but rather a major blow that is repeatable, according to him. Iran could have directed severe blows to many American military bases, but it did not, and contented itself with directing a symbolic blow to the Al Udeid base, for which Trump thanked it for the way it was carried out because it informed America before the strike!
Iran considers that a missile hitting the base's dome, which the Pentagon has approved, is a great act, while Trump claims that the American strikes on the Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz facilities have greatly destroyed those facilities.

The Lebanese President Speaks of the Possibility of Normalization with the Entity of the Jews
CNN Arabic, 07/11/2025 - Lebanese President Joseph Aoun spoke on Friday about the impossibility of normalizing relations between his country and the entity of the Jews at the present time, leaving the matter to the near future.
He spoke of preparing the country for normalization with the entity of the Jews according to the conditions of the entity and America, stressing that "the decision to exclusively possess weapons has been taken and there is no going back because it is the most prominent title for national sovereignty, and its implementation will take into account the interest of the state and security stability in it in order to preserve civil peace on the one hand, and national unity on the other hand," pointing out that "the responsiveness of the Lebanese parties and their cooperation with the state is a necessary factor to protect the country, fortify it, and confront what can be planned for it from conspiracies."
Regarding preparing the country for normalization, the Lebanese President considered that "the changing circumstances that the region is going through make it easier to find appropriate solutions to the delicate issues facing the Lebanese, including the issue of weapons," pointing out that "the decision of war and peace is within the powers of the Council of Ministers, which sees where Lebanon's interest lies and acts on that basis."
Joseph Aoun told members of the delegation that "the implementation of Resolution 1701 in the South Litani area is undertaken by the Lebanese army in cooperation with the international forces operating in the south (UNIFIL)." In response to another question, President Aoun distinguished between peace and normalization, considering that "peace is a state of non-war, and this is what interests us in Lebanon at the present time. As for the issue of normalization, it is not mentioned in the current Lebanese foreign policy." Meaning that he seeks to provide its conditions, such as disarmament, and then the entity of the Jews accepts it on the path of normalization.
