Knowledge News Network: Nation's Issues Forum
The Danger of Viewing Power as a Cake to be Divided
Under this title, Hizb ut-Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan held its monthly forum (Nation's Issues Forum), at the party's office in Port Sudan today, Saturday, 10 Muharram 1447 AH, corresponding to 07/05/2025 AD.
The forum, which was attended by a group of journalists and others, was addressed by Mr. Muhammad Jamie Abu Ayman, Assistant Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Wilayah Sudan, and Mr. Al-Nadhir Mukhtar, a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
After Mr. Ibrahim Musharraf, the platform officer and member of the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Wilayah Sudan, welcomed the guests, he gave the opportunity to the first speaker, Abu Ayman, who presented a paper in which he explained that the problem of governance in Sudan is based on the separation of religion from politics, so the view of power was that it is a spoil and a cake, over which politicians have been struggling since the departure of the colonizer until today, pointing to what is happening now in terms of tensions regarding the formation of a government headed by Kamel Idris, and the insistence of the armed movements participating in the government on their share, despite talk that the government will be from people with competencies, not quotas. But the issue of quotas is present as it was in Hamdok's government and others, citing statements by Minawi, and the spokesman for the Justice and Equality Movement, therefore, all these governments fail to address people's issues. He concluded that this view must change in order for things to be right.
Then Mr. Al-Nadhir Mukhtar spoke about Islam's view of power as a trust and a responsibility, and that the ruler is only given allegiance by the nation, which is the possessor of authority, to govern it by the Book of God and the Sunnah of His Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, to take care of its affairs according to the laws of Islam.
Then the opportunity was opened for interventions, and there were two interventions from a journalist from the Sudan News Agency, and another from the Al-Halb News website, who directed some questions related to participation in the government, the vision of Hizb ut-Tahrir for the next stage, and its relations and contacts with politicians, and the speakers answered them, as well as questions that came to the platform via the media were answered.
